Supernatural season 5 is now just a few weeks away.  The premiere, Sympathy For the Devil, will air on September 10th at 9:00pm est.  TheCW is beginning to ramp things up with back to back promo reels for the highly anticipated episode.  Here is a brand new clip courtesy of TheCW.

This particular promo is easily the best.  The whole thing captures the apocalyptic feel of the season, with plenty of puzzling clips from the coming episodes themselves.  Castiel burning a handicapped dude?  Chuck the prophet?  What could it all mean?  The rush of familiar faces is pretty nifty too, but still absent is a glimpse at Supernatural's version of the Devil played by Mark Pellegrino.

As Supernatural fan's recall, the series was on the bubble for Season 3 - pulling off a renewal in the 11th hour. Last season was quite a different story, with Supernatural becoming one of TheCW's biggest draws in scripted, now there is talk of a season six if the show can hold its numbers - something creator Eric Kripke wasn't banking on, but is apparently open to producing.

Here is the official description for Supernatural 5.01 "Sympathy For the Devil"

APOCALYPSE NOW — Picking up where the finale left off, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) watch as the Devil (guest star Mark Pellegrino, “Lost”) emerges from Hell.  The brothers and Bobby (Jim Beaver) deal with the aftermath of Lucifer rising and the stunning news from Chuck the Prophet (guest star Rob Benedict) that Castiel (Misha Collins) was blown to bits by the archangels.  Robert Singer directed the episode written by Eric Kripke.

Looks like it's going to be a good time, but I'm dying to know – who sings that song on the trailer?
