Supernatural Season 6 DVD Details

Supernatural season 6 DVDEarlier this week I posted a fairly large list of the release dates for DVDs from all five of the networks (view it here).  But since I'm a giant Supernatural fan, I wanted to pass along a more comprehensive list of details just for the season 6 DVD.  Thanks to TV Shows on DVD, EW and Warner Bros. itself, we know quite a bit.

Release date: September 13, 2011

Official description: The prize: ending the Apocalypse. The price: Sam's life. Season 5's horrific finale left Dean alone, as Sam descended into Hell. Now a different man, Dean vows to stop hunting and devote himself to building a family with Lisa and her son Ben. Then, mysteriously, Sam reappears, drawing Dean back into the old life. But Sam's a different man too. He's returned without his soul. How the Winchesters confront this greatest challenge yet to their powerful bond is the troubled heart - and soul - of the profound and thrilling 22-Episode Season 6. As the brothers struggle to reunite, they must also battle deadly supernatural forces. Demons. Angels. Vampires. Shapeshifters. And a terrifying new foe called the Mother of All.

Cost: $59.98 SRP for a 6-DVD set; $69.97 SRP for the 4-BD high-def version

Special features (known at this point & could be changed):

  • Jensen Ackles: A Director’s Journey featurette
  • Supernatural and the Quest for the Soul featurette
  • 2 episodes of the animated series (to be released on its own DVD July 26)
  • Commentary of "Clap Your Hands If You Believe" and "The French Mistake" by Robert Singer, Ben Edlund and Sera Gamble

Note: the cover included here is an early look and the final version could be changed.  As of right now, Warner Home Video hasn't officially confirmed what the cover will look like.

Will the bloopers of season 6 be included?

They always have the bloopers in the special features. Cant imagine why they would stop.
