Supernatural Season Finale Preview: Dean Was too Busy Having Sex to Read

I seriously could not resist that title.  You'll see why in a moment.

The two hour Supernatural season finale (yes, season finale, because it's coming back next year!) will be airing next week on May 20.  From the looks of the CW preview below, the episode will pick up shortly after the last one ended.  You might remember that at the end of "The Man Who Would be King", Castiel came to visit Dean at Bobby's house.  Dean basically begged Castiel to stop with his insane plane to find Purgatory and use the souls to defeat Raphael.  Castiel didn't really care for Dean's tone and left his former friend and ally.

This storyline continues to play out in the Supernatural finale.  As it turns out, Castiel didn't just stop by the Singer house only to see Dean.  He was also there to steal an old Campbell journal that held some secrets to opening a door to Purgatory.  Because it had apparently been attempted 100 years before...by H.P. Lovecraft.  Dean, of course, has no idea who that is.  Because he was too busy having sex to do silly things like read books.

And in the middle of the boys formulating a plan to stop Castiel, Ben calls Dean with very bad news: some men have broken into their house and killed Lisa's new boyfriend.  Dean is off to save his former girlfriend and her son.

Below is a preview for the season finale of Supernatural, with some new sneak peeks for the episode that we haven't seen before.  You can also view promo photos for the episode here, here and here, and a trailer here.
