Supernatural Sneak Peek: January 2011 Return

Sera Gamble promised us that the mid-season finale of Supernatural would end on a hopeful note. While I am very happy that Sam's soul has been returned to him - and presumably this will lead to brotherly bonding again - I am more concerned about what's to come. What will happen when the wall around Sam's damaged soul cracks? What will Dean discover about the souls that Death instructed him to keep investigating?

Unfortunately, we've got quite a wait before we learn any answers. Supernatural won't be returning with new episodes until January 28 (most CW shows return with new episodes that week). When it does return, Sam and Dean will be investigating a case about the disappearance and sacrifice of virgins. The CW has released a short trailer with scenes from the episode. I love how Dean says "virgins" in the same reverent tone that he once uttered "strippers". It's so good to have Dean the Horn Dog back again.

But how will Sam behave on his first case back with his brother? Will he be grateful for being pulled out of the box? Will the cracks around the wall in his mind start to show up soon? These are big questions to be answered, but until they are, we'll have to make do with this promo.
