Has Survivor ever had a more eclectic blend of competitors than those set to out-wit and out-last one another on Survivor: South Pacific? For each Law Student, a lingerie football player; for each anesthesiologist, a medical marijuana dispenser (hey wait, those two are related right? Never mind...).
Of course a wide range of backgrounds and personalities is part of what makes Survivor so entertaining to watch, and the producers seem to have worked overtime on stocking this season with colorful personalities. Eighteen castaways will compete on SURVIVOR: SOUTH PACIFIC when the Emmy Award-winning series returns on Wednesdays with the game-changing element: Redemption Island. The 18 castaways will be divided into two Tribes of nine: the Savaii Tribe and the Upolu Tribe, named after the two islands of Samoa. The tribes are comprised of individuals from all different backgrounds with the same ultimate goal: to be the Sole Survivor. While 16 of the contestants are new to the competition, two are former castaways who have returned to seek Redemption. In the end, only one will remain to claim the Million Dollar Prize and Title of Sole Survivor. The show is hosted by Emmy Award winner Jeff Probst.
Begins its 23rd installment on the CBS Television Network on September 14, 2011.
