With 'Lost' on Tuesdays, Where Can 'Fringe' Go?
Posted by Sam McPherson on November 19th, 2009

The following article was originally posted on Walter'sLab.com by Sam McPherson. You can read the original article there.

It's no secret that the Thursday 9pm timeslot just isn't working for Fringe. While the show's sophomore season is receiving absolutely stellar reviews from critics all around, viewership just isn't up to par with what it was during the show's first season. That's mostly due to Thursday's overcrowdedness — FlashForward, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, and The Mentalist all air on that night. For the entire…

"Hank" Cancelled by ABC
Posted by Clarissa on November 11th, 2009

If Kelsey Grammer was hoping to recreate that Cheers and Fraiser magic with Hank, I'm afraid that it didn't happen.  ABC has pulled the plug on the new show.

Production will wrap up as soon as the tenth episode is completed (they are currently filming it) and ABC hasn't yet confirmed whether they will run any of the remaining episodes that have been filmed.

The other three new commedies also airing on Wednesday nights over at ABC (Modern Family, Cougar Town and…

2012: The Series?
Posted by Howey Davenport on November 5th, 2009

More good news for the sci-fi geek in all of us! Even before the theatrical premiere of 2012 comes news that a television series based on the movie is in the works. Roland Emmerich, the producer/director of 2012, has disclosed that the small-screen version will take place in 2013 and center around the the "resetting" of Earth:

“The plan is that it is 2013 and it’s about what happens after the disaster,” Emmerich told EW while walking the red carpet for the…

Networks Set to More Than Triple Online Episode Commercials
Posted by Bryan Jones on October 27th, 2009

It was bound to happen sooner or later and it now seems that the sooner the better.  Before long, television networks could begin showing the same number of commercials for their streaming episodes online as they currently are on television.  The plan will only be in effect for the first 3 days after a show has aired for online viewing, and the amount of commercials after that date would theoretically drop down to something similar to what they show…

A New Political Sitcom Brought To You By Arianna Huffington
Posted by Bryan Jones on September 16th, 2009

You read it right folks, one of most influential women in media and co-founder of the liberal news website The Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington, has an idea for a sitcom, and ABC's buying it! ABC has purchased the rights to a multicamera sitcom idea of Huffington's and they're serious enough about it to bring in Friends and How I Met Your Mother Executive Producer Greg Malins to develop the project.

While most of us wouldn't consider the world of politics to be…

'Defying Gravity' Not Actually Canceled Yet According to ABC
Posted by Bryan Jones on September 14th, 2009

It seems that ABC might be just as confused about the future of Defying Gravity as the rest of us are.  Yesterday TVOvermind reported that Defying Gravity had been canceled.  Although no official announcement from ABC had been made, it seemed clear by ABC's actions, and the show's ratings, on what had happened, and many other sites also reported the cancelation (we did mention that nothing official had been announced, by the way).  After publishing our article I personally attempted…

Kelsey Grammar's 'Hank' Premiere Episode Promo Pics
Posted by Bryan Jones on September 3rd, 2009

As much as I want to mark down Hank, the new Kelsey Grammar sitcom, as the first cancellation of the season, I can't help but wonder if this show could actually end up finding an audience at ABC.  The Pros include the past success Grammar has found on television and the fact that the series is written by Everybody Loves Raymond's award winning Tucker Cawley.  The Cons are, well…lets just say it doesn't compare at all to most of the…

"V" Production Shut Down
Posted by Howey Davenport on August 27th, 2009

Reports are coming out that production of ABC's new and highly anticipated series "V" has been shut down for two weeks.

The Wrap reports:

Warner Bros. TV has decided to temporarily shut down production on the alien invasion series, with filming scheduled to halt next Wednesday, a studio rep confirmed exclusively to TheWrap. Because "V" doesn't premiere until Nov. 3, the move won't impact scheduling of the series or ABC's ability to air the six episodes it's planning for the fourth quarter.

The…

"The Time Traveler's" Wife Coming to ABC as a Series?
Posted by Bryan Jones on August 21st, 2009

Fans of the Audrey Niffenegger novel, and now hit movie The Time Traveler's Wife may be surprised to learn that ABC has given Warner Bros. TV a pilot commitment for a small screen version of the story. The new series would also be written and executive produced by Friend's creator Marta Kauffman.  While it may seem like a quick attempt by ABC to get the hit movie onto their network, ABC's interest in this project goes back "for years" as does…

"St Elmo's Fire" Series Project Headed to ABC
Posted by Bryan Jones on August 14th, 2009

This coming season old eighties hits are all the rage at the broadcast networks, especially ABC.  Already slated to start this fall are Eastwick (based on the same novel as the 80s movie) and V on ABC, and another remake of Parenthood for NBC.  And now it appears that St. Elmo's Fire, one of the defining Brat Pack movies of the eighties, could be headed to our TV screens.

In reality, the dramedy series project has received a script commitment, and has signed…
