Well, I guess I can consider this an early Christmas present, Castle fans. I was honestly losing hope that they were going to release anything about the much anticipated winter premiere - in which our very own Detective Kevin Ryan will finally tie the knot with Jenny, played by Juliana Dever who happens to be Seamus Dever's wife - but what do ya know, the promotional photos for "Till Death Do Us Apart" just popped up in my inbox.

I know this five-week hiatus (five whole weeks!) must be torture for all of you, but let's think of it this way: at least we have the holidays to distract us from the agonizing wait, right? So here is what "Till Death Do Us Apart" will be all about. A lothario is killed and our favorite dynamic duo will think it has most likely something to do with the double life he was leading. Apparently a shocking twist will disrupt the wedding, so I am guessing that Jenny is somehow involved in this? Maybe a witness, a suspect? What do you think?

Also, you should take a look at the promo below that ABC released earlier this week. Looks like Castle and Beckett will have their banter at full force, which is probably good considering the mayor arc that is coming up really soon that will put them at different sides of the fence.

Whatever happens, it looks like we are in for some intense episodes in January. So place your bets in the comments below. Sorry I have been MIA for a few weeks, but you all know how life gets in the way sometimes. I really appreciate all the messages you guys sent my way.

Castle Photos: 4.11 "Till Death Do Us Apart"

I think it is very safe to say that are all incredibly excited about this Castle episode. I know the one-week hiatus is darn near unbearable - trust me, the suspense is killing me too - but from the sneak peeks and the promo they released last week, it looks like the wait will be entirely worth it. In next week's episode, "Kill Shot", a sniper will be on the loose in New York City, killing apparently random people. Castle, Beckett and the rest of the team will assigned to this case, but it will immediately trigger Detective Kate Beckett's apparently dormant Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and will make her face her inner demons.

This episode will probably be a great journey into Beckett's psych and maybe this is the chance to finally find out what is going on inside her head since the shooting. The brief therapy scenes have been great in past episodes, but it looks like this time she is going to have to confront this issue head on. I am willing to bet this is going to be a very intense ride and hopefully a set for the midseason finale "Cuffed".

Sneak Peeks: Castle 4.09 "Kill Shot"

So that was the epitome of an incredibly fun episode, wasn’t it? I must confess that what I was really looking forward to about last night was the fact that we would finally get a glimpse of episode 4.07 “Cops & Robbers” that we have all been so excited about. From the promo and sneak peeks about “Demons”, however, I figured it would most likely be one of those funny episodes with lots of one-liners and puns about ghosts and Ghostbusters.

And, well, I wasn’t wrong. But what I wasn’t expecting was that it was going to be so much fun. I’ll be the first to admit that I am not a comedy kind of girl, but “Demons” really got to me and I found myself genuinely enjoying all the ghost stories and theories. What I really loved about this episode, though – and it’s something I have been noticing for a couple of episodes now – is how they are mixing up the team a lot more this season.

Up until season 3, we had a very clear division in the homicide team with Castle and Beckett doing their own thing and Ryan and Esposito doing theirs. But lately, it seems like they are trying out different combinations and, as much as I absolutely loved Ryan and Beckett working together in “Kick the Ballistics”, Castle and Ryan chasing ghost leads in “Demons” were just a whole new level of awesome. Maybe it’s because I have a new found love for Detective Ryan – I have always liked him, but he just seems to get exponentially more awesome and sweeter this season – but I just thought that it really worked having him and Castle paired up with their belief of the supernatural, while Beckett and Esposito stood on the other side of the spectrum being completely skeptical.

There are just way too many aspects I loved about last night’s episode, but I have to say one of my absolute favorite moments was watching Castle screaming like a girl when that corpse fell on him. Nathan Fillion just pulled that off so well, that I was genuinely laughing out loud with that scene. In fact, that whole sequence of him and Beckett exploring the haunted house was hilarious. When she started telling him about her experience with the supernatural, I knew from the get go that she was yanking his chain. And that alone says so much about how far she has come since season 1, when she didn’t even laugh at his jokes, let alone joke with him. Also, am I the only one who has noticed that Castle seems to go to Beckett’s apartment a lot now? She didn’t even look surprised to see him at her doorstep.

About the double date, I just really felt bad for Jenny. Poor thing was just trying to be nice and friendly and ended up causing Lanie and Esposito to break up. I really hope they talk this out and get back together soon. Although I am curious as to who was in favor of marriage and who wasn’t.

Speaking of relationships, can I just say that I see Ashley becoming a thing of the past in the near future? I really liked Alexis in this episode and how she is dealing with the fact that being in a long distance relationship is not easy and sometimes said relationship is just not strong enough to survive the time apart.

To sum this up, “Demons” was by far the funniest episode in a really long time and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. A+

Castle 4.06 "Demons" Review

Tonight has been a very good night for Castle fans. ABC has just released the promotional photos for "Heartbreak Hotel" - the Atlantic City episode! - along with the sneak peeks for next week's Halloween episode "Demons". We have also just posted exclusively the first promotional photos featuring Desperate Housewives' Richard Burgi, who will be guest starring in titled "Heartbreak Hotel", scheduled to air on November 7th. In this episode, a murder of an Atlantic City casino owner at an abandoned warehouse, splitting the homicide team in two. Strong leads emerge for the team in both New York and Atlantic City.

As Beckett and Captain Gates work the New York leads together - which I am so looking forward to see; those two are going to kill each other while working together and it's going to be so entertaining to watch - Castle naturally chooses to join the Ryan and Esposito for the road trip to "America's Playground," hoping to help solve the case while throwing an impromptu bachelor party for Ryan.

Let's not forget that this episode will come right after the highly anticipated "Cops & Robbers", so whatever does go down during the bank heist episode will most likely have its falling out during "Heartbreak Hotel".

The wait is over, Castle fans. Tonight we will finally find out just what those incriminating promotional photos, that have been driving the fandom crazy for the past couple of weeks, are really all about. In "Eye of the Beholder", Castle and Beckett will investigate a murder that is linked with the theft of a very valuable sculpture. All seems fine and normal until Serena Kaye (guest star Kristin Lehman), a smart, sexy insurance investigator, joins the dynamic duo in the investigation, but she also has her eyes set on Castle, all the while hiding a very important secret from the team.

In case you haven't seen the polemic pictures, they show Castle doing something that has the fandom - and Kate Beckett - crying foul before the episode has even aired. And after all that has happened since the last stretch of episodes in season 3, I just hope there is a very good explanation for what is supposedly going to happen in tonight's episode along with a very nice resolution.

But then again, the promotional photos of the two episodes ("Demons" and "Cops & Robbers") following "Eye of the Beholder" are already out and all seems to be just fine in the Castle & Beckett world - especially in episode 4.07 "Cops & Robbers". Don't forget to check out the sneak peeks for tonight's episode.

Tonight On Castle: 4.05 "Eye Of The Beholder"

Well, I have to say that the upcoming Castle episode, "Eye of the Beholder" is sounding more and more deliciously infuriating. As you all probably already know, next week Castle and Beckett will be investigating a murder linked to a very valuable sculpture. Kristin Lehman (The Killing) guest stars as Serena Kaye, a a smart, sexy insurance investigator who offers her services in order to help them with the case. The problem is she also sets her eye on Castle, which will just drive Detective Kate Beckett up the wall in jealousy.

As you can see in the clips below, Castle will be a little taken with Kaye and Kate will most likely be killing the blonde in her mind several times over the course of the episode. Personally, I just hope this insurance investigator turns out to be the murderer or something equally twisted, just to punish Castle. The guy is supposed to be in love and now he's chasing after another woman? Seriously?

Yes, I am definitely taking Kate's side on this one. And of course, a jealous Kate Beckett is always entertaining as we already got to see in "Nikki Heat" last season and in the two-parter in season 2 when Dana Delaney guest starred as Agent Jordan Shaw.

Sneak Peeks: Castle 4.05 "Eye Of The Beholder"

Oh this episode is going to be so good, my fellow Castle fans. Ever since it was announced there would be an episode where Castle would be held hostage, I have been insanely excited about it. Just think of all the repercussions this scenario could possibly have. Castle in danger, Beckett not knowing what happened to him? Oh, the possibilities!

I was already really looking forward to episode 7 of season 4 - titled "Cops & Robbers" and scheduled to air on October 31st - because, you know, it is just a really juicy plotline that could really help move Castle and Beckett's relationship the story  along. That was before I saw the promotional pictures for the episode. My excitement now? Through the roof. I am actually half dreading it now because I am afraid it might not live up to my expectations, but come on. Have you seen those pictures?

We know that Castle is going to be in the bank with his mother when a hostage situation occurs. From the photos, it looks like Detective Kate Beckett will be doing a ride-along with the paramedics, which is actually surprising and sounds really cool.

This episode is going to be so good. I can feel it.

I think it’s safe to say that “Kick the Ballistics” was a really intense episode, right? I had been really looking forward to this episode since it would bring back the 3XK storyline. While we didn’t get a resolution for this case and didn’t even see the infamous Triple Killer, I was actually really pleased with how this episode was handled. You all know how the continuity (or lack thereof) on Castle really bothers me. I may not be satisfied with how they handled it throughout the last season, but it is great when they pick up those loose threads that were left hanging several episodes back. I loved how they showed how the fact that Jerry Tyson had one upped Ryan really affected the detective and that was beautifully portrayed by Seamus Dever.

Even though I still think they could have handled the fallout of the 3XK episode back in early season 3 better, The Powers That Be did a wonderful job with “Kick the Ballistics”. In fact, that was probably the most Castleless Castle episode to date and you know what? As much as I love Nathan Fillion and think he is awesome, pushing him to the backburner – sort of – actually worked.

Of course that was due to a number of factors and if the writing, directing and, most importantly, acting hadn’t worked out, this episode would have tanked incredibly fast. I have been saying for a while now that, while Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion are great, it has been really nice to see the secondary characters flesh out more and get more screen time. An episode about Detective Ryan had been way overdue and it was great to see Seamus Dever getting his chance to shine. Because “Kick the Ballistics” only was an amazing episode due to his stellar performance. I knew he had it in him, but last night proved just how talented he really is and I am so glad he finally got his moment in the sun.
I usually don’t care much about the cases, but this time – maybe because it was so personal for all of them – I found myself really enjoying every twist and turn. The highlight of the episode for me was their sense of camaraderie, friendship and team work. I absolutely loved to see more of the relationship between Beckett and Ryan and how they really have that brother-sister bond. That was evidenced in several scenes throughout the episode, but the one that stood out for me in particular was when she breaks up the fight between him and Carver and then follows him into the break room. That entire sequence – up until they talk to Clifford Chang – was just such a great portrait of what their relationship is really like.

Something else I loved was how they were all united against Gates. I literally cheered when Ryan stood up to her and then everyone followed him out when she told him to take the rest of day off. Of course Beckett subtly giving her the finger – whether that was intentional or not – was just the icing on the cake. Then Esposito channeling the Fresh Prince of Bel Air was probably one of the most hilarious scenes on the series to date.

I honestly can’t even pick a favorite scene as I just really enjoyed the entire hour. Again, kudos to Seamus Dever for making this a very memorable episode.

Castle 4.04 "Kick The Ballistics" Review

With Halloween right around the corner, Castle is delivering an episode that has everything to do with the date. Their latest case will have Castle and Beckett investigating the murder of a ghostbuster. Apparently the guy was found locked inside an empty, locked haunted house. Can you imagine the field day Castle is going to have with this one?

“Castle believes that a ghost is behind the murder, Beckett doesn’t,” Stana Katic told TV Line a couple of weeks ago. However, she was clear to point out, “That doesn’t necessarily mean that Beckett doesn’t believe in the supernatural, which I thought is kind of cool.”

Also, it is important to point out that, after the polemic promotional photos for episode 4.05 "Eye of the Beholder" that is scheduled to air before this one - titled "Demons" - everything seems to be fine between our dynamic duo, which just makes me wonder what exactly is going to go down in "Eye of the Beholder".

I have to say this is one of the episodes that I have been really looking forward since I heard about it from Seamus Dever back in July. Tonight, Castle will deliver an emotional episode featuring Detective Ryan's worst nightmare when his old service piece is found to be the murder weapon that killed their latest victim. "Kick the Ballistics" will bring back the 3XK storyline and the consequences of the fact that Jerry Tyson (aka The Triple Killer) took Ryan's badge and gun when he escaped right through our favorite team of detectives' fingers in early season 3.

Castle's creator, Andrew W. Marlowe, told TVLine that it is going to be a deeply emotional episode for Ryan - and for the whole team, I imagine. The fact that he will see a cop's worst nightmare come to life will just make Ryan work harder to solve this case.

“We did an interesting thing,” Dever reflects. “[Director] Rob Bowman didn’t want Ryan sort of wallowing in the fact, ‘Oh, this happened to me. Poor me.’ Instead, he wanted to activate Ryan to be a better cop, to do his job but even better than he ever has before.” As such, Ryan and the team work hard and fast to track down his weapon before it can be used again.

I think it's safe to assume that we are in for quite a journey tonight, Castle fans. Don't forget to check out the sneak peeks and photos for this episode.

Tonight On Castle: 4.04 "Kick The Ballistics"

After the release of promotional photos for episode 4.05 - titled "Eye of the Beholder" and scheduled to air on October 17th - that caused the Castle fandom to nearly implode yesterday, ABC has just released the sneak peeks for next week's episode "Kick the Ballistics". Even in the midst of all the drama and confusion generated by the polemic set of pictures, I have to say that I am a lot more excited about the clips released today.

"Kick the Ballistics" will feature the return of the 3XK storyline and, if the videos are anything to go by, I think we have a really, really good episode to look forward to next Monday. In case you don't remember, the 3XK was the serial killer that fooled everyone and escaped with Detective Ryan's gun and badge in early season 3. Now, even though it looks like we won't be seeing Jerry Tyson (aka the 3XK) in this episode, his presence will be felt as the murder weapon used to kill the victim of the week will be identified as Ryan's old service piece.

I am really looking forward to this as this episode will finally be Seamus Dever's moment in the sun. We had an Esposito episode back in season 2 and now we will finally get to see the way overdue Ryan episode. Go ahead and check out the clips below. Sneak Peeks: Castle 4.04 "Kick The Ballistics"

Friendly advice, Richard Castle. Run and hide from the shippers while you still can. That is all I have to say.

The upcoming 4.05 "Eye of the Beholder", scheduled to air on October 17th, has been incessantly talked about ever since spoilers about a possible new love interest for Castle surfaced a couple of months ago. Kristin Lehman guest stars as Serena Kaye, a smart, sexy insurance investigator, who joins our dynamic dui in the investigation, but she also has her eyes set on Castle, all the while hiding a very important secret from the team.

Well, according to the photos that have just been released by ABC, it looks like Serena Kaye will have a lot more than just her eyes set on Castle. Right now, I am willing to give the benefit of doubt and just hope this is going to be a "Nikki Heat" sort of episode, as I discussed in an article posted a few weeks ago. Nevertheless, whatever this turns out to be, it sure is going to have consequences in the relationship - or lack there of - between Castle and Beckett. I can only imagine what is going to go through Beckett's mind when she sees them kiss. I mean, the guy told her he loved her and from what we have seen so far, she has pretty much accepted that she loves him back and now he is kissing someone else? Ouch. Open your eyes, Detective. Clock is ticking and Castle won't be waiting around forever.

That said, let's all take a big, collective deep breath before freaking out. Remember when the "Nikki Heat" promo photos came out? There was a kiss then too and it turned out for the better in the end.

Well, I am very happy to say that for the first in a while I actually really enjoyed the case of the week. In last night’s “Head Case”, Castle and Beckett found themselves investigating a really unusual case. When they first got to the crime scene, there was a lot of blood, but the victim’s body was nowhere to be found. With a lot of twists and turns, this murder investigation took them to the world of cryogenic science that ultimately led to a very tragic end of an almost Shakespearean epic love story.

What really stood out for me in this episode was that it felt like classic Castle again. It had that seasons 1 and 2 vibe, in which there was drama, but the comedy and one liners we love so much finally made an appearance again and it was just so much fun to watch. Of course Castle, Beckett and the boys were all great, but the highlight of the episode for me was Lanie. Finally they gave Tamala Jones more screen time and gave her a chance to showcase her incredible comedic timing. I admit I am not usually a big Lanie fan – not that I don’t like her. I do. She is just so grossly underused that I still haven’t had enough time with her to become a fan – but she really was a joy to watch last night. All of my favorite scenes from “Head Case” included her. Let’s hope they will continue on this path as Tamala Jones is really talented and deserves more time and recognition than what she has been given lately.

Now, about Alexis. Did we really expect her to go to Stanford? Not at all, right? That said, I am not sure how I feel about this sudden change in her character. Sure, she is acting a lot more like a normal teenager, but it has been such a sharp one-eighty turn that I found myself baffled by her attitude. On the one hand, it is good that they are portraying her like a normal teenage girl, with emotions all over the place and I think it could be a great way for the character to grow. On the other hand, however, I am genuinely afraid that Alexis will turn into an annoying, whiny character because of this. As we got to see last night, she doesn’t handle rejection well and it was heartbreaking to watch Castle having no idea how to deal with the situation. The fact that he now thinks that maybe he overprotected and spoiled her a little too much can be a really interesting storyline as they both learn to deal with the fact that just because he has money doesn’t mean Alexis can have everything she wants.

What was interesting about “Head Case”, though, was the fact that they seem to be portraying the relationship between Castle and Beckett in a completely more blatant way. Subtlety was, up until season 3, the trademark of the show. The fans had to look carefully for those moments and interpret and analyze them thoroughly to get a hint of what it could all have possibly meant. Last night, they threw that subtlety out the window. From Beckett asking Castle if he thinks she needs a boob job to that final scene, it is so obviously clear that those two are head over heels in love with each other and, to be honest, it just makes it even more frustrating to watch them both pine for one another, but still hold back because they are afraid. In Stana Katic’s words, “He should just grab her, make out with her and make babies” already.

Other things worth mentioning:

• Castle jumping after the head was hilarious;
• The dead pigeon scene with Ryan and Esposito;
• “No, I just sit down here all day and make stuff up. Of course I’m sure!” – Lanie
• “That’s what all the great love stories are all about, right? Beating the odds.” – Beckett
• I still don’t like Captain Gates, but I think I am in the minority team here.

All in all, “Head Case” was a really fun episode and I give it a solid B+. But I admit I am so excited for next week’s “Kick the Ballistics” as we are finally going to see the 3XK storyline resurface and it is also going to be Seamus Dever’s chance to shine since the episode will most likely focus on Detective Ryan. Castle 4.03 "Head Case" Review

Well, that was quite the polar opposite of last week’s premiere, wasn’t it? Not that it was bad. Not at all. In fact, I think “Heroes & Villains” can be safely considered what people would call classic Castle.  It had a rather unusual case, great one-liners, a funny storyline, enough suspects to confuse the audience and great character development.

Last night’s episode wasn’t quite as epic as “Rise”, but considering everything that went down during the premiere last week, it was good to have a breather of an episode. After all, we can only take so much emotional angst, right? “Heroes & Villains” was highly anticipated as the superhero episode had been teased about by the producers and cast since they were at Comic-Con in July. For me, it was not the best episode ever by a long shot, but it a really fun hour of television. That could also be attributed to the fact that I am not a comic books and/or superhero kind of girl, but I found that I knew a lot more about the major superheroes than I expected.

Of course the superhero theme was just a way to touchdown on a few aspects about the characters. First, it was interesting to see how their sense of justice and what is right and wrong seemed to differ. That was mostly evidenced in the scenes with Ryan and Esposito and how they were of completely opposite opinions about the supposed superhero that sliced the victim in half. By the way, friendly advice, do not watch that scene while having dinner. It wasn’t pleasant, trust me.

Second and most prominently was the obvious allusion to Kate Beckett and how she is kind of a superhero herself. Even her choice of who she would choose to be if she could be a superhero – Elektra – is very telling. Castle picked up on it immediately and called her out on it – a ruthless assassin who hides from her emotions. Obviously, she is not a ruthless assassin, but the hiding from her emotions thing was spot on. Add Kate’s description to that (she has kickass ninja skills) and you kind of have Detective Kate Beckett down to a T.

Then when they caught Officer Hastings and her story was ridiculously similar to Kate’s, it just sealed the deal. Even though “Heroes & Villains” was a fun, quirky episode, in my opinion, it was also a way to study the character of Kate Beckett a little deeper and get a glimpse on how she is dealing with her emotions after everything that has happened. The scene where she is interrogating Officer Hastings was probably one of the very best moments of the episode because it hit so close to home for her. She could see that this was how she could have ended up, had she decided to take matters into her own hands when she joined the Academy all those years ago. In fact, I really hope this is not the last we will see of Officer Hastings. They have so much in common and it would be great to see Kate act as a sort of mentor to her, much like Captain Montgomery was to her when they met. And it would also be a great way to get some insight on what’s going on in Kate Beckett’s mind as it was evidenced in the scene where she releases the girl.

Castle 4.02 "Heroes & Villains" Review

After kicking off its 4th season last week with quite a bang (the ratings were very impressive), ABC's hit show Castle returns this week with a rather unusual episode. Featuring what is probably the most gruesome murder yet (although the one in the pizza episode last season is a serious contender for the first place in this competition), "Heroes & Villains" will have Castle and Beckett diving in head first into the world of comic books and superheroes as they investigate the murder of an ex-con who was mysteriously slain in an alley. Our favorite dynamic duo believes a vigilante is behind the murder. Their main suspect, however, roams the city in a Superhero costume - and may just actually be a Superhero.

From the sneak peeks posted last week, we also know that this episode will be dealing with the fact that Alexis is excited about joining her boyfriend, Ashley, at Stanford - all the way across the country - as soon as possible. Castle is obviously not happy about that and I am willing to bet he will be struggling with this throughout the episode and will most likely seek Kate's advice on the matter.

"Heroes & Villains" will also feature the launch of Richard Castle's Deadly Storm, the official Castle graphic novel, which is already available for purchase. Tonight on Castle: 4.02 "Heroes & Villains"

Stana Katic is probably the best advocate of the shippers that desperately want Castle and Beckett to get together already. Out of the entire cast, she is the one who has always supported the idea of the two leads pursuing a romantic relationship and how that would not ruin the show. There is no Moonlighting curse, people. All there is here is good writing and bad writing. We have examples on both so we know it is possible to be successful after the two leads finally resolve that sexual tension that drives the fans crazy.

Katic sat down with TV Line's Matt Mitovich, and revealed just what is going on in Detective Kate Beckett's mind after everything that went down since the season 3 finale. Poor girl has had a lot going on: her Captain and mentor betrayed her and then died to protect her, she got shot and almost died, Castle declared his undying love for her and she has absolutely no leads on her mother's case anymore. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster, right? It's no surprise that she went back to her therapy sessions, even after being approved in her psich evaluation.

So at this point, she's stuck in a really hard place, in which she has finally realized that she loves Castle right back, but she can't pursue anything with anyone (romantically) until she solves her mother's murder and put this whole thing to rest once and for all.

"There’s also that fear for Beckett. It took her pretty much all of first season just to look at him as a cohort, as a really great partner, so why sacrifice that unless you’re completely sure that the other person’s going to dedicate themselves to making a relationship work?" She explains.

When asked about why Kate would lie about not remembering anything, Stana explains what she thinks is going through Beckett's mind:

"One of the reasons is that she realized over this experience, while in northern New York at her father’s cabin, that she herself has always kind of kept one foot out the door in a relationship. She has probably gotten into relationships and maybe known that there was a way out if she needed it, because there was this looming thing that she needed to do, a chapter that she needed closure on, which was her mum’s murder. She knows that she now would be a danger to any relationship that she would get into unless she can close that, so she’s not willing to admit to Castle that she feels the same way."

Katic also says that one of the reasons that Beckett may not be ready for a relationship with Castle is because she may still see him as a player, as someone who may not be faithful in a relationship. She knows he is a great friend and trusts him, but this is also a guy that has two failed marriages on his back and, for all she knows, he may have been the reason both marriages didn't work.

Now both characters are stuck in a catch 22. Beckett won't be ready for anything real with Castle until she solves her mother's murder and Castle can't let her investigate it or she will be murdered. Not to mention that they are both keeping major secrets from each other. I am willing to bet that when those secrets come out, things will not be pleasant. "I think that her first reaction is she would be pissed." The actress says. "Because for her that’s the one thing she has to finish in order to get on with things, and to get into a relationship – hopefully with him, because she is crazy about him. She is in love with him. And throughout this season I’m looking for moments for that to shine. That was part of a discussion with Andrew and some of our creatives here: I feel, as the actor performing it, like the audience has had so much insight into what’s going on in Castle’s mind, because he has this outlet, his family, and Beckett doesn’t. So we’ve created this psychiatrist character (played by Michael Dorn) who’s an avenue. But I’ve also looked for private moments, as an actor, where Castle might not be looking but she can at least show [her feelings]."

Personally, I am all for seeing more of Beckett outside of the precinct and talking to a friend or even her dad. I am a big fan of Scott Paulin's Jim Beckett and I am really hoping they will bring him back sometime this season. I find that whenever he is in an episode, we get to see a different side of Kate, thus getting more private moments and thoughts from the detective. Lanie would be a great bridge to Beckett's world too because it seems that they played up that friendship in season 1 and then it kind of fell into the backburner until now. Just having a girlfriend to talk about what's going on in your head would be a great way to balance Castle's family life and get an insight into Beckett's thoughts.

Stana also teases the Superhero episode airing tomorrow night and says that they had a blast filming it. "She relates to the superhero that’s doing what he’s doing, because she’s a form of a superhero – in my mind, at least!"

Castle: Stana Katic on How Beckett is in Love With Castle & What's Ahead For This Season

You know, I'll be the first to admit that I tend to like the more dramatic episodes over the funny ones. Not that the comedy aspect of Castle isn't good. Not at all. It's great, actually. I'm just not usually a comedy kind of girl. That said, next week's episode, "Heroes & Villains" looks like it is going to be hilarious. To keep the momentum going for its hit show (after a new high in the ratings with last night's "Rise"), ABC has just released a few clips of the next episode.

The much teased about Superhero episode will bring what seems to be the most gruesome murder yet (although the pizza one last season is serious competition for that title). Apparently, the poor victim will be split right down in the middle with a sword - a la Game of Thrones. Ouch.

In this episode, we will also see how excited Alexis is to attend Stanford and how not excited Castle is about letting his little girl graduate earlier to join her boyfriend all the way across the country to go to college. Can't blame him for not being thrilled about that. The poor guy has been through a lot and now, on top of everything, he has to face the fact that his daughter might be moving out.

There is also a glimpse of Castle's new graphic novel - Richard Castle's Deadly Storm - and lots of discussion about superheroes since their main suspect seems to be one. Don't forget to check out the promotional photos for next week's episode and for "Head Case", the third episode of season 4. Sneak Peeks: Castle 4.02 "Heroes & Villains"

How are you guys doing after that amazing premiere, Castle fans? Hanging in there?

In case you have already wrapped your head around everything that went down during "Rise" (and you can check out my detailed review here), I bring you the promo for next week's episode. "Heroes & Villains" looks like it is going to be hilarious, dealing with superheroes. Apparently, the killer in next week's case is going to be an honest to god superhero and I just bet Castle is going to have a field day with that.

This episode has been teased about since way back in July during Comic-Con. It is also going to be a great opportunity to promote the fact that the Castle graphic novel - Richard Castle's Deadly Storm - which you will be able to buy here. Castle: 4.02 "Heroes & Villains" Promo

That was an excruciatingly long summer, wasn’t it, Castle fans? Leaving us hanging like that after that out of this world finale was just plain cruel, especially given how it ended with Beckett getting shot and Castle spilling out those extremely important three little words. I know speculation has been running wild since May about how everything was going to be resolved and the expectation – particularly after waiting for four months – was sky high. Much like it had been with the finale, I was half excited and half dreading this episode. When the screener popped in my inbox a couple of weeks ago, however, I admit curiosity won out and I have been crawling out of my skin to talk to you guys about it since then. Trust me, it was torture not being able to discuss what I had just seen with anyone for over two weeks.

But I believe “Rise” lived up to its hype, didn’t it? It wasn’t quite as epic as “Knockout” and it was something completely different from what I was expecting, but I was very pleased with how they handled everything. And this is coming from me, who always has a pickle with something, even though I love the show. There is so much to talk about here that I am having a hard time figuring out where to start. So I think I am just going (or at least try) to do this in a chronological order.

That opening sequence was pretty intense. From Beckett being rushed into the hospital, to Josh having to work on her, then the fight; everything had emotions flying all over the place. I liked how they handled the fact that Josh was there and even though he is her boyfriend and couldn’t operate on her, he had to make that choice to save her life. In a way, I do feel bad about him because he really did care about her. I also thought it was interesting that he knew all about her mother’s murder, which makes me wonder when exactly that was revealed to him. I know a lot happened since “Knockdown”, but since their relationship always gave the impression of being on the rocks, it is curious that he suddenly knew everything, which in turn makes me also wonder what exactly caused their break up later. But more about that in a second.

Nathan Fillion wasn’t kidding when he said that Victor Webster’s shove rocked his world. Because that was intense. I honestly felt bad about Castle, then, and was glad to see that he intended to fight back. As much as I understand where Josh was coming from, it didn’t excuse him for trying to pick a fight right there at the hospital while his girlfriend was dying in the OR. And poor Castle; the guy had just seen the love of his life – not that Josh cared or knew, for that matter – get shot while one of his good friends was being put to rest after being gunned down a few days before. Talk about overwhelming, right? Not to mention the guilt about this whole thing that must have been eating him up inside. If he hadn’t stuck his nose where it didn’t belong way back in season 1, maybe none of this would have happened.

Castle 4.01 "Rise" Review

The wait is finally over, Castle fans. It has been an excruciatingly long hiatus and I have to say that I am so happy to be writing these articles again. I honestly can't wait to discuss everything with you guys after the episode airs tonight. As you all know, "Rise" will pick up just a few minutes after the season 3 finale, "Knockout", ended and I will tell you this much: the first ten minutes or so are very intense as Detective Kate Beckett's life hangs on by a thread.

Before tonight's season 4 premiere airs, however, how about we take the time to recapitulate what went down the last time we saw Castle on our screens (which was over four months ago; I know, I feel your pain)?

"Knockout" brought back the storyline of Johanna Beckett's (Kate's mother) murder investigation and it unveiled a surprising twist. It all started when Hal Lockwood, a hit man that was hired to take out people related to the case (including Beckett), escaped prison right through Beckett's fingers. She starts a reckless quest to find out who is behind the whole conspiracy and they end up discovering that their own Captain, Roy Montgomery, had been involved in the conspiracy that led to Johanna Beckett's murder and had covered it up years ago.

He comes clean with Beckett and asks for her forgiveness. However, he ends up getting killed trying to protect her, but kills Hal Lockwood in the process. During his funeral, Beckett gets shot in the chest by a sniper. Castle even tried to save her by tackling her to the ground, but he wasn't fast enough. Just before she passed out, he spilled out those three very important little words and then bam, they left us hanging for the entire summer.

Castle returns with the season 4 premiere, "Rise", tonight, September 19th, at 10/9C on ABC. While you wait until 10pm, you can take a look at the promotional photos, promo, sneak peeks and teaser of this episode.

Tonight on Castle: Season 4 Premiere "Rise"

Being a fan of ABC's hit show Castle for a while now, I had already known that the cast was really nice and friendly. After all, their interviews are always fun and lighthearted. So with that in mind, I braved my very first press room at Comic-Con and it just happened to be with the cast of my favorite show.

Talk about pressure, right?

After a really entertaining panel with a packed house, Seamus Dever, Jon Huertas, Tamala Jones, Molly Quinn, Nathan Fillion and executive producer Laurie Zaks took the time to sit down and talk to us about the new season on Castle. And I have to say, all of them are the most down to earth people I had the chance of meeting during the entire Con.

You can check out for yourselves what they had to say about season 4 and what they think the repercussions of the explosive season 3 finale are going to be. One thing was unanimous, though. They all said that the season 4 premiere – entitled “Rise” and scheduled to air on September 19^th – will be even more epic than “Knockout”, which is saying something, right?

Unfortunately, we don’t have a video of Molly Quinn’s interview, but I can tell you this much: Alexis is not happy about the way her father’s relationship with Detective Beckett is progressing.

“She is not a shipper”, Molly emphasized during the interview. “She just saw a bullet go by her face and her grandmother’s face while he jumped in front of the woman the bullet was intended for, risking his own life. And that woman got shot, anyway. So I am whisked away by the police and I just saw my dad go down. I don’t know if he’s been shot, if they’re both dead… They're not tellling me anything. I mean, how would you react?”

She also said that Alexis will not see eye to eye on everything with Castle this season, especially after the events of the finale.

Castle Press Room At Comic-Con: Videos, Photos And Spoilers

It's no surprise that Joss Whedon has a magic touch.  I will be the first to admit that his creations are not always infallible, but the man has an eye for doing new and exciting things that end up working like we couldn't have predicted.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog wasn't the first made-for-web mini movie/series, but it took a cute idea and put it on a platform that allowed it to flourish.  The little web series that could ended up winning multiple awards, including an Emmy, a Hugo, a Steamy and a People's Choice Award.

Titan Books has produced a companion guide to the web series, which is now available for purchase.  The book is a treasure for fans of Dr. Horrible, and should have you laughing from the very first page, which features a Forward from Captain Hammer himself (who seems to have a little trouble recalling the name of his now deceased girlfriend).  A round-table discussion among the series' collaborators comes next.  The Whedon brothers and Maurissa Tancharoen take you through the creation and casting of the series (with a few hilarious tangents along the way).

An uncut version of the entire script follows and sprinkled throughout the book are behind the scenes photos, annotated script pages, original lyrics from Joss Whedon himself, and memories from the various actors involved.  There's also a behind the scenes look at the costumes.  Even a tribute to the fans of the series is included, along with accounts of appearances at Comic Con and some awards shows.  You'll learn some fun facts you probably didn't know about the series: like the fact that the two male leads completely forgot about the first read-through and that Angel and Supernatural writer Ben Edlund was involved at the beginning of the web series.

If you're musically inclined, then you'll be thrilled to know that the sheet music for the entire score is contained at the back of the book.  Personally, I'm itching to head to my old piano at my parents' house to see if I remember how to play and belt out the Dr. Horrible songs.

You'll laugh along with all the commentary throughout the book, just like you laughed during Dr. Horrible.  If you're a fan of the web series, then you need to buy this book.  If you're not a fan of the web series, then you need to watch it ASAP, because you don't know what you're missing.  And then you need to buy this book.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Book Review

Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Castle) is making it known that he down with fan demands that he play the part of Nate Drake in the upcoming film adaptation of Naughty Dog's successful game franchise Uncharted - but some other news on the project may make him want to reconsider. Word broke earlier that infamous hothead director David O. Russell has been tapped to direct the adaptation.  Russell is best known for the violent clashes with cast on the set of his last film, I heart Huckabees - and by last, I mean produced over six-years ago.  Russell has since abandoned a few projects, and has now been handed the reins to Uncharted.  No word on whether he has participated in any anger management classes.

For his part, Fillion is a charismatic pro who could probably pragmatically navigate the ill tempered director; if nothing else, Fillion is a dead ringer for Nate Drake, although perhaps a few years older.  In terms of character, though, Fillion has the market cornered when it comes to playing dashing smart ass fortune hunters - when it comes to the idea of casting Fillion as Drake, I'm not sure there is a strong enough word beyond 'perfect' to describe the prospect.

So how does Fillion plan to nail this plumb role?  In the social-verse, of course.  It was the signing of Russell that set the news-wire ablaze with the Uncharted property, but Fillion fans quickly filled up every comment form they could grab to plea for his casting in the iconic title role.  Fillion did his part by tweeting:

Could it work?  Why not.

Nathan Fillion as Nate Drake in Uncharted Movie?

ABC has announced that the Nathan Fillion starring drama, Castle will return for a 22-episode third season next fall.  This is great news for the series, and wonderful news for fans.  The pickup from ABC comes just one week after Castle hit series high ratings (and ABC got it's best scripted ratings in the timeslot in 14 years!) with 14.5 million viewers tuning in.  Sure, the series had a great leadin with the return of Dancing with the Stars, but the charming power of Nathan Fillion as murder-novel writer turned quasi-detective Richard Castle kept those viewers in their seats for the next hour.

For me personally Castle is a huge victory simply because of the details involved.  Last season Castle was a very modest success, and was even considered to be on the bubble at the end of the season, with no clear idea if it would return.  ABC took a chance on the series, and brought it back for a second season.  Again, the series started off relatively slow this fall, but has continued to pick up steam and grow it's audience.  In a day and age where the networks hardly give most series 5 or 6 episodes to make it or break it, ABC deserves a bit of a pat on the back for sticking with Castle and giving it an opportunity for viewers to find this great show and enjoy it.  Who would have thought a year ago that this series would ever have the power to beat CBS's hit CSI: Miami, which went head to head with a new episode last week when Castle won the timeslot.  So here's to looking forward to another season of Castle, and hopefully a few more Buffy and Firefly tie-ins to go with it...Joss Whedon, you ready to guest-direct an episode yet?

ABC Picks Up 'Castle' For 22-Episode Third Season

The 2010 Streamy Awards are just around the corner, officially set for April 7 and April 11.  Never heard of the Streamy Awards? If that's the case, now is the perfect time to get involved in the world of web television as the Streamy's honor the past year's best in original web programming.  2010 marks only the second year for this new, annual awards ceremony, and taking a look at this year's nominees will get you up to speed fast on some of the best web programming out there.

So who's the top dog in nominations this year? None other than Felicia Day's web series The Guild, in it's third season and about a group of online gamers and how they function in the real world.  This year The Guild and it's great cast are up for 7 awards including: Best Comedy Web Series, Best Directing for a comedy Web Series, Best Writing for a Comedy Web Series, Best Male Actor in a Comedy Web Series (Sandeep Parikh), Best Female Actor in a Comedy Web Series (Felicia Day), Best Ensemble Cast in a Web Series, and finally for Best Guest Star in a Web Series (Wil Wheaton).

Other well known actors up for Streamy awards include Nathan Fillion (for PG Porn), Courteney Cox (for Web Therapy), "Weird All" Yankovic (for Know Your Meme), Tony Hale (for CTRL), and Robert Englund (for Fear Clinic).

You can check out all of the nominations on the Streamy Awards website (www.streamys.org), which also provides links to all of the nominated web content so that you can take a look for yourself to see who is the best out there.  But take it from me, if you watch nothing else, take a look at The Guild. It's well worth it!

Streamy Awards Announce 2010 Nominations for Excellence In Web Programming

If you're a fan of Joss Whedon or Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, then chances are you've known that a sequel would be coming for some time now.  Joss confirmed that himself and the rest of the creative team were working on a sequel back in August and now Nathan Fillion has let slip to MTV News that the process is continuing to come along, and there's even a title.

"There are plans.  The media for the sequel has not yet been decided, but there is a title." Naturally Fillion wasn't about to reveal that title, but he did also confirm that along with the writing of the script, at least a song or two had also been written.

"Joss, I was talking to him right before we won the Emmy," said Fillion. "He said that he's finished writing a song or two. He told me a couple of verses to the song."

There's still no timeframe for when fans might get to see Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris take on the roles of Captain Hammer and his arch-nemesis Dr. Horrible for the second time, and the lack or a decision on the media outlet for the project certainly doesn't help.  Whedon has said in the past that he wasn't certain if the multi-episode miniseries format was the best choice for online audiences, or if another venue, including a movie, was a better way to go.  In August, he again mentioned that a venue hadn't been decided on, and Fillion also specifically mentioned that the media hasn't yet been decided. So while I'm all for getting it written and ready to go, let's decide on a venue already!!  Seriously, I can't wait for this sequel and it won't matter if its in the form of a movie, multi-episode miniseries format online, a direct to DVD, or even from some strange Russian site that ends up infecting my computer while I watch the show.  As long as I get to see it, I'm happy! Bring on Dr. Horrible the sequel!!
