Plus, Sarah Jessica Parker & Kate Hudson to Guest Star

With the announcement of Fox's 2012-2013 primetime schedule (read it here) that sees Glee moving to Thursday nights, the network has also spilled a few details on what we can expect for season 4, premiering in the fall.

Graduating Seniors. Some fans have been concerned about what might be happening to the senior class graduates at the end of the year. Will they leave the show? Will the writers find a way to keep them in Ohio? Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly shed some light on what's in store for them in season 4. Apparently, Glee will go the show-within-a-show route and have a handful of the graduating seniors move to New York to attend a performing arts school. Glee will still be set in Ohio, and those scenes will revolve around a group of new high school students (who will be announced over the summer). If we had to guess, our money would be on Rachel, Finn and Kurt moving to New York and remaining on the show.

New Guest Stars. The days of "no high-profile guest stars" are over (although, were they every really on to begin with?). Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker will be appearing in season 4 in a multi-episode role. Meanwhile, Kate Hudson has also signed on for six episodes. There are no further details about their characters at this time.

A new episode of Glee airs on May 15. Watch sneak peeks for the special two-hour episode here.

Fringe Gets Renewed for Final, 13 Episode Season

Fringe fans can finally stop chewing their fingernails -- FOX has renewed the fan favorite sci-fi series for a fifth and final season of thirteen episodes. The announcement came on Thursday, after weeks of nervous anticipation leading up to the announcement of the fate of the bubble show. Despite the cautious optimism of executive producers J.H. Wyman and Jeff Pinkner, fans were worried that the series might come to an abrupt conclusion in just a few weeks, at the end of its fourth season. Now, however, we have an ending in sight.

In a press release, FOX president Kevin Reilly, an outspoken fan of the show, had this to say about the show's renewal: "Fringe is a remarkably creative series that has set the bar as one of television’s most imaginative dramas. Bringing it back for a final 13 allows us to provide the climactic conclusion that its passionate and loyal fans deserve. The amazing work the producers, writers and the incredibly talented cast and crew have delivered the last four seasons has literally been out of this world. Although the end is bittersweet, it’s going to be a very exciting final chapter.”

It's not just the end that's exciting -- with the show's renewal, it seems incredibly likely that J.J. Abrams will actually get to direct another episode. “All of us at Bad Robot are forever indebted to our viewers and the amazingly supportive FOX network for allowing the adventures of Fringe Division to not only continue, but to resolve in a way that perfectly fits the show," the co-creator added in a statement.

It's news like this that gives me a little more faith in the power of network television. Fringe has always been a show that deserved its own proper resolution, and the fact that it will actually get one can only be seen as absolutely positive.

The show's renewal also might be partially due to the involvement of Fringinuity, a group of fans who have launched surprisingly effective Twitter campaigns targeting the advertisers for the show -- campaigns so effective, as it turns out, that FOX started using them to promote the show, too. If fans of any future shows need somewhere to look for a successful campaign, it couldn't hurt to give those guys a glance.

Fringe will return for the twentieth episode of its fourth season, "Worlds Apart," tomorrow night, April 27, at 9/8c on FOX.

We also have some new promo shots from Sunday's two-part episode and the season 5 cast shots which are as stunning and as stylish as you would expect.

The video at the end of this article (courtesy of PopSugar TV) is a 4-minute overview of the whole of season 4 and if you're wondering where we left all of the main characters at the end of the season 4 finale "Tomorrowland" then read ahead.

-Don (Jon Hamm) shocked both co-workers and viewers as he proposed to his secretary Megan (Jessica Paré). This was also a surprise to Dr. Faye Miller (Cara Buono) who Don was dating at the time. Miller had astutely predicted that Don would be married by the end of the year.

-Joan (Christina Hendricks) is pregnant with Roger's (John Slattery) child after a street robbery led the pair to a brief romantic reconnection. Roger believes that Joan has had an abortion and Joan's husband Greg (Sam Page) who is away with the military believes the baby is his.

-Sally (Kiernan Shipka) is becoming more desperately unhappy at home as her mother decides they are moving house when troubled child Glenn (Martin Holden Weiner) befriends her daughter. Sally has also been seeing a psychiatrist, a psychiatrist that Betty (January Jones) has been using as a sound board for her own troubles. Betty has realised that her marriage to Henry (Christopher Stanley) isn't the fairy tale that she thought it would be and expresses some kind of wistful regret when Don tells her of his engagement.

-Things are going pretty well for Pete (Vincent Kartheiser); Trudy (Alison Brie) has just had their first child and while the agency isn't financially stable Pete has proved that he is a good account man and loyal to Don and his secret. Don showed his gratitude to Pete by paying Pete's $50,000 contribution to keeping the firm afloat. They certainly have come a long way since Pete attempted to blackmail Don at the end of season 1.

-Peggy (Elisabeth Moss) continues her successful career even with the gender related obstacles. Peggy obtained a new account at the end of the season and accounts are very much needed to keep Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce afloat after Lucky Strike withdrew their business. Peggy and Don have a particularly strong working relationship especially after the emotionally fuelled episode "The Suitcase." Peggy is also having the most counterculture related experience of the 60s, particularly with her choice of friends and lover towards the second half of the season.

So that is the end of season 4 covered but where will season 5 take us? As we have previously said Matthew Weiner is notoriously strict when it comes to any spoilers, though he has revealed that once again the theme will be change and that really is the running theme throughout the series. The new promo photos don't reveal much in terms of plot, other than we will be seeing them both at work and at a social function where there are a lot of bold patterns in the costuming (Janie Bryant working her magic as always). The cast promo shots can be analyzed in terms of who has been paired with who and the positioning of each person in the shot or they can just be looked at from a purely superficial stance. The same can be said about the official season 5 promo poster; what is the meaning behind this composition?

Any season 5 theories? Will Don be married to Megan? Will Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce be more successful? What would you like to happen in season 5 of Mad Men? Let us know in the comments and watch the season 4 catch-up below.

Mad Men returns this Sunday, March 25 to AMC with a 2 hour episode "A Little Kiss" at 9/8c.

Fringe: Find Out Who the Observers Are on Feb. 24

Fringe's fourth season is really heating up, and don't expect that momentum to be deferred. Friday's episode, "A Better Human Being," promises to be a great outing, especially after the cliffhanger of last week's "Welcome to Westfield," which saw the new timeline's version of Olivia apparently regaining the memories from the other timeline's self. But it's the February 24 episode that's really going to blow your mind. The episode, titled "The End of All Things," is apparently so good that it necessitated releasing a trailer two weeks in advance.

"Answers are coming," the trailer ominously promises. What answers are we talking about, exactly? Well, if the trailer is to believed, a very, very big one is going to be answered: who are the Observers?

September (Michael Ceveris) will appear in the lab before Peter, suffering from the gunshot wound he had in "Back to Where You've Never Been." Either the gunshot happens after he enters the lab or his wound is healed, though, because the trailer reveals another shot of him standing next to Peter, with Peter asking him a fateful question: "Who or what are you?" The trailer seems to make it certain that we'll get a concrete answer.

Watch the trailer below. Fringe airs its next episode, "A Better Human Being," Friday, February 17 at 9/8c on FOX. "The End of All Things" will air the next Friday.

Fringe 4.12 "Welcome to Westfield" Review

Fringe has finally started answering questions, and that couldn't have come soon enough. Season 4 has featured some absolutely fantastic episodes, but it's also suffered from the affliction of being too damn frustrating. Episodes like "Enemy of My Enemy," which push the story forward, are too often followed by meandering affairs such as "Forced Perspective," which largely ignore the momentum created by the previous episode. There's a pervading feeling of 'Who cares?' throughout those episodes, and perhaps for good reason. Fringe has spent several episodes subtly trying to convince us that Peter needs to 'return home,' challenging the previously held notion that he is home and just needs to be remembered. The characters became just shadows of their previous incarnations that we were doomed to leave, and the mysteries, despite being quite often good, no longer held any real weight.

Thankfully, "Welcome to Westfield" finally slapped all those storylines back into place with a resounding, "Yes, it matters." It appears that, as we had previously thought, Peter does just need to be remembered. And, of course, Olivia is the first one to do so.

She remembers Peter over the course of the episode's case, a Fringe event reminiscent of season two episodes "Johari Window" (because of the hostile small-town setting) and "Jacksonville" (because of the melding universes). In a smart move, Fringe turned those similarities into a plot point, with Olivia remembering the case from "Johari Window" despite the fact that she never worked on such a case in the Peter-less universe. Add that to her Peter-lovin' dream from the beginning of the episode, and you've got a recipe for a kick-ass cliffhanger.

But first, the case itself, which was apparently the work of David Robert Jones, a notably absent figure who pulled the strings of the episode without even making an appearance. For reasons unknown, Jones decided to meld the town of Westfield together, ultimately succeeding in destroying it nearly entirely, save for a bike shop in which our heroes managed to hide.

The episode managed to make the most of the season's significantly lower budget. The mostly subtle changes to Westfield's residents were surprisingly effective, and served to be the perfect example of how the show can save money without looking like it's saving money.

So, finally, we reach the end of the episode, which saw Olivia apparently completely transformed into the Olivia we knew. The fact that she's acting like this is a routine seems to indicate that she has no memory of Peter's disappearance and return, which will make the next episode interesting, to say the least. It seems likely that Olivia's memory was returned by the Cortexiphan doses that she's been receiving from Nina, but does Nina know that is what the Cortexiphan is doing?

In any case, it seems clear that Fringe is no longer about 'going home,' but about remembering, meaning that the show can be compelling again after a few episodes of spinning its wheels. Welcome back, Fringe. We've missed you. A

Basketball Wives: Setting the Scene for Season 4

Believe it or not, it's been about six months since Evelyn, Jennifer, Shaunie, Tami, Royce, and Suzie have been on our television screens, throwing drinks, shade, and pretty much anything not nailed down. When last we left the Super (Messy) Six Basketball Wives, the circle had weakened following Jennifer's comments about Evelyn's fiancee but retained its power long enough to keep Royce on the outside looking in yet again. Meeka was looking more and more like a one season wonder thanks to her feud with Tami, while Suzie had become a full-fledged part of the circle, thereby squashing any prior season beef with Evelyn and company and distancing herself from Royce. Amidst all the typical reality drama, Shaunie promised that season four would focus less on rivalry and more on camaraderie and charity, but would she follow through?

Considering the fact that the biggest offseason Basketball Wives storyline is the further dissolution of Evelyn and Jennifer's once (seemingly) solid friendship, it looks like interpersonal drama hasn't quite left the show for good. At the end of season three, the two seemed to be on fairly decent terms, mending from their emotional argument in Italy, but recently, news has started to surface that the central Basketball Wives friendship is no more. Jennifer confirmed (as of late December) that she and Evelyn are no longer on speaking terms in an interview with I Power, thanks to some subtweets the future Mrs. Ocho Cinco had been not-so-subtly directing at her. Interestingly enough, there's a rumor going around that Evelyn hits Jennifer in the head with her pocketbook at one point in the upcoming season, a claim that Jennifer doesn't really deny in her interview. (Check out NecoleBitchie.com for excerpts from the 12 minute chat.)

But is Twitter the main reason for the "break-up"? It looks like all the subtweeting was a result of other drama, as Jennifer claims (via the VH1 Blog) that Evelyn's jealous of her new "industry" friends NeNe Leakes and Mashonda Tifrere; it strikes me funny that Jennifer harps on how silly it is for Evelyn to be jealous/hurt due to Jennifer's flourishing social life, given that she spent a lot of time last season obsessing over Royce's business relationship with Eric, but I digress.

So, there are claims of jealousy between two reality co-stars, which leads to what? A Twitter beef. Evelyn didn't take too kindly to Jennifer's claims and thus "went off" on her former friend, insulting her social standing and her colored contacts before being "talked down" by fiancee Chad Ocho Cinco. (The VH1 Blog has screencaps of everything both ladies said, with Jennifer mostly retweeting other people's comments and Evelyn making a spectacle of herself.) The day after, Evelyn spoke with Necole Bitchie and addressed the feud, claiming that there's another incident that happened after they squashed things that reignited all the negative feelings that came from Jennifer's infamous radio interview. (They haven't talked about it directly in interviews, as it's a part of the show.) Combine that with Jennifer currently making the press rounds and spilling all types of tea and Evelyn's fuming.

Perhaps Jennifer should have written a not-tell-all "fiction" book like Evelyn did, because change a detail or two and it's totally fiction, you guys. And not a tell-all.

That type of tension can only be contained for so long and recently, according to TMZ, it blew all the way up. Jennifer and Evelyn's assistant Nia got into a physical scuffle at a hotel, resulting in security holding Evelyn back from making a punk move to go after Jennifer and a police report filed. (Considering Jennifer's aversion to physical conflict, I imagine this may be the thing that keeps Evelyn and Jennifer from being friends again.) After Jennifer filed a battery report on Nia, Nia filed a theft report on Jennifer in the past few days, accusing her of not returning a house key and threatening her. While Nia had to do something to protect herself if she deemed Jennifer willing to snap back at her, perhaps she could have just changed her locks. It makes her look a little petty and like she's just trying to find something to sue Jennifer for.

Got all that?

Elsewhere on Basketball Wives, there hasn't really been that much gossip going on. Of course, the ladies have been doing their business ventures, including Tami's anti-fur ad and Royce's stop on the NY play circuit, but there's not been anything as potentially dynamic shifting as the fall of the circle. (There's also a beef with a Love and Hip Hop cast member and two lawsuits that Tami has had to handle lately.) Royce had a moment that she thought about quitting the show, but a week later, she changed her mind and hopped on board the Basketball Wives Express one more time. All this while dealing with a serious relationship with football player Dezmon Briscoe, who I'm not sure will get a lot of camera time come season four. (Royce's love life hasn't been focused on that much in the series.) In less happy news, Royce admitted in a recent interview with S2S.com that she's not cool with (and doesn't film with) Shaunie, but it comes as no surprise considering how contentious their relationship has been for quite some time.

Finally, Basketball Wives will be welcome two new members to replace the departed Meeka Claxton. Kenya Bell is a former Miss Michigan that made waves in the blogosphere when she allegedly attempted to stab her husband Charlie with a box cutter. I'm guessing we have our next challenger to the throne of Basketball Wives, yeah? In addition to Kenya, Kesha Nichols is entering the fray; former dancer Nichols was left at the altar by Richard Jefferson and rumor has it, has been palling around with Royce here recently. We won't know how Kenya and Kesha will fair on the Basketball Wives battleground, but something tells me that season four may just be the best yet, balance or no balance.

Basketball Wives returns February 20th at 8:00 on VH1. Be sure to follow Kenya and Kesha on Twitter, as well as the rest of these ladies in order to get all sides of the story for each episode.

Are you excited for season four of Basketball Wives? Do you want a more balanced show or are you happy with all the drama?

Fringe: J.J. Abrams Wants to Direct an Episode in Season 5

J.J. Abrams operates in a way that's similar to the deists' perception of God. He simply creates something, winds up the spring, and lets it go how it will. Sometimes, as with Undercovers, the clockwork is wound too tight and it breaks. But Abrams has a tendency, as he did with LOST, to wind things up just right, and then step away. He did the same thing with FOX's Fringe, one of the most creatively brilliant shows on television right now.

In a video released by FOX on Thursday, Abrams chats with Fringe marketing special ops Ari Margolis about why exactly he loves the show that he helped to create, pointing out how the show is a wonderful mix of the scary and the heartfelt, pointing to Walter Bishop (John Noble) as a prime example.

While Abrams realizes that viewership isn't great and that chances of a fifth season aren't great, he certainly sweetens the pot for FOX to renew the series; he's willing to once again wind up the clockwork. "While I don't know what the schedule is, it has been my desire since the pilot to direct an episode," Abrams says. "I would say without question that if Fringe comes back, I would do anything in my power to direct an episode. I would love it."

Fringe will air Friday, January 20 with the episode "Enemy of My Enemy" at 9/8c on FOX. Watch it live.

Fringe Midseason Premiere Review: Back with a Vengeance

Fringe returns on January 13 with "Back to Where You've Never Been," the episode that should have been the midseason finale before it was pushed back by the World Series. And while Fringe left us on the oddly pensive note that was "Wallflower," Friday's episode will make it obvious that the series meant to go to the winter hiatus with a bang. "Back to Where You've Never Been" is the best episode of season 4 so far, better than previous title holders "Novation" and "And Those We've Left Behind." The episode marks the season gaining momentum after a few episodes of spinning its wheels, and at least in one regard, that momentum is going somewhere. Fringe is back, baby.

Peter seems to have been growing as frustrated as we were with just sitting around, and in this episode, he takes initiative. As the countless trailers and promos released for this episode have indicated, he hatches a plan to the alternate universe, which seems more familiar than our universe, because the ramifications of his disappearance aren't nearly as severe. Of course, that doesn't mean that everyone is friendly. Things don't go smoothly at all (but did you really expect them to?).

Check out these promos and behind-the-scenes photos from the episode.

The episode moves quickly, dodging opportunities to stall and instead hurrying right on to introducing new mysteries -- and bringing back some old ones. The episode sees the return of an old foe, while a familiar face is put into mortal danger. Someone we thought would be bad turns out to be good (perhaps), and someone finally gives John Noble credit for great acting. Here's one last little hint: this episode will leave you craving some "Lysergic Acid Diethylamide."

Fringe looks to be heading into what I've been told is an energetic second half of the season. "Back to Where You've Never Been" would have been a fantastic midseason finale, but it makes a pretty great midseason premiere, too. A

Fringe Teaser Promises Everything Will Become Clear in January

Fringe is coming back in January, and we're going with it to the Other Side. The show's fourth season went to hiatus last Friday with "Wallflower," a standalone episode that was great but wasn't midseason finale material. As it turns out, that's because the World Series pushed the real midseason finale, "Back to Where You've Never Been" to January 13, meaning that it will serve as the midseason premiere instead. As such, FOX has a lot of cool trailers for the episode ready to go.

There's one titled "Clear," crafted by Fringe trailer guru Ari Margolis. It's even more action-packed than the one that aired after "Wallflower," which hinted at the return of super-awesome villain David Robert Jones (Jared Harris).

This one features a lot of scenes from the episode itself. Apparently, when Peter travels over to the Other Side, it causes a bit of a ruckus. The Fringe Division goes absolutely nuts, bringing out armed soldiers and troops. Colonel Broyles declares that there's been an incursion from the other universe. Peter's apparently taken into the other side's custody, and is treated as a prisoner (though he declares "It's not my fight").

Another shot sees Peter asking a visibly frightened Walter about the machine (finally!), which he's hoping will return him to his original timeline. Walternate looks at the memory chip from one of the shapeshifters in one shot, while in the next, Lincoln Lee confronts Altlivia about who exactly these shapeshifters are. "Not everything is as it seems," Walternate warns in a voiceover.

Worried? Don't be. "Everything will become clear," the trailer announces in big letters before promising that Fringe will return on January 13.

Fringe season 4's midseason premiere, "Back to Where You've Never Been," promises to be great. You can check out the "Clear" promo below.

Fringe Promo: An Old Villain Returns in Episode 4.08

Fringe has just entered its long winter's hiatus, which will last until the show returns on January 13 with the episode "Back to Where You've Never Been." The episode, which was supposed to serve as the midseason finale until it was pushed back due to the World Series, looks like an action-packed affair. The episode, by the way, will be written by newcomer David Fury, who penned this season's "Alone in the World," but is better known for writing the iconic LOST episode "Walkabout."

"Back to Where You've Never Been" sees Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) build a bridge to the alternate universe in order to enlist Walternate's help in returning to his own timeline. The title of the episode refers to the fact that while Peter is familiar with an alternate universe, it certainly isn't this one, which has forgotten that Peter exists just like the other universe. Here's hoping that this brings us a new hue for the Fringe opening credits -- those are always fun.

The promo for the episode, which aired after Friday night's "Wallflower," features some pretty neat things, including a confrontation between the two Lincoln Lees (Seth Gabel and Seth Gabel) and a meeting between September (the Observer) and Olivia, who in this timeline is unaware of who the Observers are. Might September finally spill the beans about what exactly is going on here? We certainly hope so.

But there's something else about this promo that it might take two or three views to catch. Right after Walternate tells Peter that "not everything is as it seems," we get a quick flash to some tanks (cloning? cryogenic? Bacta?) and then a flash of a very familiar face -- one that we haven't seen since the season one finale, when that very face was sliced in half by a closing portal to the other side. That's right -- David Robert Jones (Jared Harris) -- is returning to Fringe in episode 2.08.

We couldn't be more excited. Check out the promo for yourself below. Fringe will air its midseason premiere, "Back to Where You've Never Been" Friday, January 13 at 9/8c on FOX.

The fourth season of Arrested Development will be released exclusively through the site's streaming service starting in 2013, Deadline is reporting.

20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television will bring the show's long-awaited fourth season to Netflix, “Arrested Development is one of the finest American comedies in TV history and its return through Netflix is a perfect example of how we are working closely with studios and networks to provide consumers with entertainment they love,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a statement. “It’s also a perfect example of how broad and successful our relationship has become with Fox as we work together with their film, television, international and digital divisions on several exciting initiatives."

Arrested Development's fourth season will reportedly feature various members of the Bluth family and where they've been since the show originally went off the air in 2006.

Noting that Arrested Development "has stood the test of time," 20th Century Fox TV Chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman added, “We also pride ourselves on breaking the rules at this studio, and after bringing back two canceled series – ‘Family Guy’ and ‘Futurama’—to enormous success, we are bullish on the prospects for this brilliant series. We can’t wait to get back to work with Mitch [Hurwitz], Ron [Howard] and Brian [Grazer] on bringing the Bluths back to America’s living rooms."

Executive producer and narrator Ron Howard added, "After a long hiatus, I’m dying to finally get back to the narrator’s microphone…’It’s Arrested…Development.’"

When we last saw the Bluths back in the third season finale "Development Arrested," Michael (Jason Bateman) and his son George Michael (Michael Cera) had travelled to Cabo to escape their selfish family, only to find that Michael's father, George Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor), had hitched a ride. Meanwhile, Michael's niece Maeby (Alia Shawkat) had visited the real Ron Howard to pitch her family's story as a television series. Howard had then uttered the last words of the series: "Maybe a movie."

Arrested Development will finally return in 2013. What do you think? Will you be getting a Netflix account just to watch the series? I know I will be.

Back in June, I posted my hopes that Jared Harris would reprise his role as season one baddie David Robert Jones in a timeline where he hadn't been killed by Peter. A few weeks later, Harris even stated he'd be open to returning.

Set photos have emerged showing Harris, who currently stars on AMC's period drama Mad Men, on the set of Fringe. And while he won't give away specifics, Joshua Jackson thinks it's pretty cool. "The fact that we’re getting back to David Robert Jones and going back basically into Season 1 to rehash all of that stuff, is super-cool," he told TV Line. "And [Jared Harris] is a great actor to have on the show. But I don’t want to give away the way [he returns], because if you’ve been watching from the very beginning, it’s a very satisfying reveal."

When we last saw Jones in the season one finale, he was being chopped in half by a closing portal between the two universes. That portal, which was closed by Peter, was opened over a very popular location for Fringe -- Reiden Lake.

Executive producer Jeff Pinkner was more enigmatic about Harris's return, though: "There are pictures of Jared Harris (David Robert Jones) on the set of our show," he told Give Me My Remote. "To what extent and what the character is and who the character is and how the character is, those are things that we don’t want to spoil."

Fringe's midseason finale, "Wallflower," will air Friday, November 18, on FOX at 9/8c.

You can read TVOvermind's review of it here. Next week's episode looks to be pretty awesome, too. It's titled "Wallflower," and will feature Olivia coping with migraines, as well as "an invisible force which kills its victims and causes the body to turn a ghostly white," that is "linked to someone who died of an unknown genetic disorder."

While that premiere reminds me a lot of season two's episode "Earthling," which featured a shadowy creature that turned its victims into ash, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what this episode has in store. After all, who else had a rare genetic disorder as a child? You guessed it: Peter Bishop. My money says that Peter's illness and this case are somehow linked.

"Wallflower" will serve as the midseason finale of Fringe, which will then be on hiatus until January 13, when it will return for the David Fury-penned episode "Back to Where You've Never Been."

Check out some promo photos from "Wallflower" over the next few pages. The episode airs Friday, November 18 at 9/8c on FOX.

Not to mention we were due for a bit of a breather after the whirlwind start to Fringe season 4.

The episode features real-life husband and wife Stephen Root and Romy Rosemont in fantastic performances as the root cause of the time slips that have been happening. Fringe Division initially attributed the time lapses to Peter’s appearance, but it becomes apparent that Root’s character Raymond is responsible; however, Peter’s appearance is what allowed Raymond to succeed with his time-jumping technology. It seems as though Peter’s very existence in this new timeline, which people have taken to calling the Amber timeline, has made the universe itself more susceptible to time-related Fringe events.

Fringe has become particularly adept at featuring cases which parallel the issues going on in the lives of our characters. In this instance, Peter must know something of what Raymond is going through: everyone Peter loves or cares about has forgotten him and their lives together, and at the moment there is nothing he can do to help them recover those memories. Every so often an episode comes along that hits me a little deeper than I expected, and this was one such episode for me. I can’t claim to know what it’s like to see a stranger staring back at me from the eyes of someone I love, as happens with the Alzheimer’s from which Romy Rosemont’s character Kate is suffering. I do, however, know something of what it’s like to watch someone I love in a situation that I can do absolutely nothing to change. Sometimes all we really can do for the people in our lives is, as Kate advises Raymond, love them; knowing that and accepting that, however, are two very different beasts.

My slight complaint about last week’s Fringe episode was remedied in “And Those We’ve Left Behind”: with Walter determined to ignore Peter, Peter and Olivia’s interactions were brought to the forefront. It was certainly jarring at times, since in many ways they’re almost back at season 1 in terms of their relationship, yet with an undercurrent of strangeness. From Olivia’s view, Peter is a stranger, yet she has this odd connection to him; for Peter, Olivia remembers nothing of their time together, yet she remains, in many ways, the same woman he knows and loves. Seeing Peter and Olivia work the case together was quite fascinating, especially since Peter was given a chance to show his brilliance. Usually, Walter is the one coming up with the theories, yet Walter refused to work this particular case, for the most part, so Peter stepped in. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that Peter is a genius himself, even if he doesn’t have the same formal training as Walter.

I thought it was about time that Olivia told Peter about her dreams, and finally asked him, albeit in a round-about way, what they were to one another in the other timeline. The final exchange between Peter and Olivia really brought home something I’ve been wondering about for a while: is this really “our” timeline, and where was Peter Bishop? The characters we’ve been seeing since Fringe came back this season are undeniably different, and with so much of their history also altered, it makes me wonder if Peter himself has been transported to another, alternate universe rather than everything in our Blue timeline changing around him. Theoretically, there should be an infinite number of alternate universes, and we’ve only really seen two thus far. Just when I think I’ve resigned myself to the paradoxes that time travel presents, an episode like this pops up and turns everything on its head again. Say what you will about Fringe, but they certainly know how to keep us guessing at every turn.

Something else I’m also enjoying this season is the little references and call-backs that seem to be hidden throughout the episodes, and the tangents they send me on. For example, the book that the little girl in the teaser wants to read is called “Burlap Bear”, which first showed up in the season 1 Fringe episode “Unleashed” when Olivia is reading it to Ella. This prompted a question that I probably should have wondered more about before now: does Ella still exist in the Amber timeline? Since Nina adopted Olivia and Rachel after their mother’s death, perhaps the more stable maternal influence kept Rachel from getting into a relationship with Greg; however, Marilyn Dunham didn’t die Over There, and Rachel still got pregnant, so that reasoning may be flawed.

Tonight’s Fringe did a wonderful job of exploring a fascinating case – and I loved the way they used the time jumps – while simultaneously setting up what seems to be the direction this season will take. Exploring this new timeline is certainly an adventure, but I really do want to see at least some progress soon on setting things to rights, otherwise I fear it may get a little bit frustrating. That having been said, I trust everyone at Fringe, and they haven’t let us down yet; they always seem to know just how long to keep a storyline going, and I’ve never felt like they needlessly draw things out. Who else can’t wait for next week’s episode already? A

Titled "And Those We've Left Behind," the episode is undoubtedly the best of the season so far -- even better than last week's "Novation," which was pretty darn great as well. The episode will guest star Stephen Root (Justified, Office Space), and will deal with the time loop that we got a glimpse at in "Novation."

FOX has shelled out another great promo for the episode, courtesy of advertising special ops Ari Margolis, who's been responsible for pretty much every great Fringe ad in the past few years (and there have been quite a few). The promo's a fast-cut look at the episode, focusing on the scenes featuring Peter. Is he really lounging in a park with Olivia? What's that weird vest thing he's wearing? And what does Olivia mean when she says Peter's the "problem?" You'll just have to tune in on Friday night to find out.

Fringe will air the episode "And Those We've Left Behind" on Friday, November 11 at 9/8c on FOX. Check out the promo for the episode below.

Castle 4.05 "Eye Of The Beholder" Review

Last night’s episode, “Eye of the Beholder” turned out to be a very light and fun hour of television. I admit I was slightly apprehensive about this episode and, while I thought it was very entertaining for the most part, there were a few things that stood out and bothered me a little.

“Eye of the Beholder” was very reminiscent of last season’s “Nikki Heat”. It had the same tone, the same jealous Beckett plot and the same over the top blonde who wanted to get her hands on Castle. It is no secret that “Nikki Heat” is one of my all time favorite episodes – and this is coming from someone who prefers the more dramatic ones – and although last night’s episode was very much like “Nikki Heat”, it wasn’t exactly as brilliant. Last season, Natalie Rhodes had me laughing out loud at her extremely thorough method acting; last night, Serena Kaye just pissed me off. Sure it was great to see Beckett’s jealousy rear its ugly head, but this time I just felt bad for her. Last night wasn’t about a woman trying to get into her head and imitate her; no, last night things got personal. It was about some other woman trying to take away the man she is in love with. For if there is one thing “Eye of the Beholder” established is that Kate Beckett is one hundred percent in love with Castle.

What bothered me, however – besides Serena Kaye – was the fact that Castle was suddenly so willing to chase after another woman. I get that the guy is only human and even if he loves Kate, he can’t just become celibate all of a sudden because she is not ready for a relationship yet. But the change was so sudden that it almost gave a whiplash. This is the guy that until last week was head over heels in love with Kate Beckett and suddenly he is all smitten with a leggy blonde? Of course, there was Martha’s advice, which I think Castle kind of took it the wrong way. When she said he needed to get out there, part of me understood that he either had to do something about his non-relationship with Beckett or move on, but it was mostly to urge him to move things forward with her. If it wasn’t, then I don’t understand what they tried to do with her character there because I thought she supported his relationship with Kate. So I am a little lost here.

Even though Serena Kaye just annoyed the hell out of me, she at least served the purpose of getting Kate’s possessive side out. She was all but branding Castle and growling out “mine” whenever Serena so much as looked at him. When she caught them kissing outside her hotel room, she looked positively livid. If looks could kill, the insurance investigator would have died several times over last night.

What I absolutely loved about “Eye of the Beholder”, however, was the scene that Kate is talking to her therapist. I know I have complained over and over that they should have just given that role of Kate’s sounding board to Lanie or some other friend, but now I can definitely see the wisdom of their decision of bringing a shrink in. Even though we assume Lanie is one of her best friends, I doubt Kate would be so candid and honest with her about her feelings. A therapist gives her the chance of talking things out with someone who is completely neutral about everything. He doesn’t judge, he doesn’t know Castle and he is not rooting for them to get together already. He is just there for her to vent and help her figure things out in her own time and I am so glad we are finally getting to see just what is going on in her head.

When he asked her what she was afraid of, I think he hit the nail right on the head and deep down I believe she is afraid of both possibilities: that Castle loves her enough to wait however long it takes her to be ready or that he does love her, but he won’t wait around forever. By the end of the episode, it felt like a role reversal of the end of season 2, when Castle decided to step down so she could be with Demming. This time, Kate was the one who decided to bow out so he could be with Serena if that was what he wanted. And this is the crux of the matter for me, really. Because if we keep on the role reversal mind track, Castle is the one who is now sending completely mixed signals her way. One day he is all in love and then suddenly he is all taken with another woman. Knowing Kate like we all do by now, that will just make her push him away. So what are we (and Kate) supposed to take from that?

In short, “Eye of the Beholder” had its moments and was mostly entertaining, but it left me with a feeling that it lacked something. Maybe I just need to watch it again, but for now it gets a B-.

Tonight On Castle: 4.05 "Eye Of The Beholder"

The wait is over, Castle fans. Tonight we will finally find out just what those incriminating promotional photos, that have been driving the fandom crazy for the past couple of weeks, are really all about. In "Eye of the Beholder", Castle and Beckett will investigate a murder that is linked with the theft of a very valuable sculpture. All seems fine and normal until Serena Kaye (guest star Kristin Lehman), a smart, sexy insurance investigator, joins the dynamic duo in the investigation, but she also has her eyes set on Castle, all the while hiding a very important secret from the team.

In case you haven't seen the polemic pictures, they show Castle doing something that has the fandom - and Kate Beckett - crying foul before the episode has even aired. And after all that has happened since the last stretch of episodes in season 3, I just hope there is a very good explanation for what is supposedly going to happen in tonight's episode along with a very nice resolution.

But then again, the promotional photos of the two episodes ("Demons" and "Cops & Robbers") following "Eye of the Beholder" are already out and all seems to be just fine in the Castle & Beckett world - especially in episode 4.07 "Cops & Robbers". Don't forget to check out the sneak peeks for tonight's episode.

Castle airs tonight, October 17th, at 10/9C on ABC.

Sneak Peeks: Castle 4.05 "Eye Of The Beholder"

Well, I have to say that the upcoming Castle episode, "Eye of the Beholder" is sounding more and more deliciously infuriating. As you all probably already know, next week Castle and Beckett will be investigating a murder linked to a very valuable sculpture. Kristin Lehman (The Killing) guest stars as Serena Kaye, a a smart, sexy insurance investigator who offers her services in order to help them with the case. The problem is she also sets her eye on Castle, which will just drive Detective Kate Beckett up the wall in jealousy.

As you can see in the clips below, Castle will be a little taken with Kaye and Kate will most likely be killing the blonde in her mind several times over the course of the episode. Personally, I just hope this insurance investigator turns out to be the murderer or something equally twisted, just to punish Castle. The guy is supposed to be in love and now he's chasing after another woman? Seriously?

Yes, I am definitely taking Kate's side on this one. And of course, a jealous Kate Beckett is always entertaining as we already got to see in "Nikki Heat" last season and in the two-parter in season 2 when Dana Delaney guest starred as Agent Jordan Shaw.

Don't forget to check out the polemic promotional photos for this episode.

"Eye of the Beholder" is scheduled to air next Monday, October 17th, at 10/9C on ABC.

Ever since it was announced there would be an episode where Castle would be held hostage, I have been insanely excited about it. Just think of all the repercussions this scenario could possibly have. Castle in danger, Beckett not knowing what happened to him? Oh, the possibilities!

I was already really looking forward to episode 7 of season 4 - titled "Cops & Robbers" and scheduled to air on October 31st - because, you know, it is just a really juicy plotline that could really help move <del>Castle and Beckett's relationship</del> the story along. That was before I saw the promotional pictures for the episode. My excitement now? Through the roof. I am actually half dreading it now because I am afraid it might not live up to my expectations, but come on. Have you seen those pictures?

We know that Castle is going to be in the bank with his mother when a hostage situation occurs. From the photos, it looks like Detective Kate Beckett will be doing a ride-along with the paramedics, which is actually surprising and sounds really cool.

This episode is going to be so good. I can feel it.

Tonight On Castle: 4.04 "Kick The Ballistics"

I have to say this is one of the episodes that I have been really looking forward since I heard about it from Seamus Dever back in July. Tonight, Castle will deliver an emotional episode featuring Detective Ryan's worst nightmare when his old service piece is found to be the murder weapon that killed their latest victim. "Kick the Ballistics" will bring back the 3XK storyline and the consequences of the fact that Jerry Tyson (aka The Triple Killer) took Ryan's badge and gun when he escaped right through our favorite team of detectives' fingers in early season 3.

Castle's creator, Andrew W. Marlowe, told TVLine that it is going to be a deeply emotional episode for Ryan - and for the whole team, I imagine. The fact that he will see a cop's worst nightmare come to life will just make Ryan work harder to solve this case.

“We did an interesting thing,” Dever reflects. “[Director] Rob Bowman didn’t want Ryan sort of wallowing in the fact, ‘Oh, this happened to me. Poor me.’ Instead, he wanted to activate Ryan to be a better cop, to do his job but even better than he ever has before.” As such, Ryan and the team work hard and fast to track down his weapon before it can be used again.

I think it's safe to assume that we are in for quite a journey tonight, Castle fans. Don't forget to check out the sneak peeks and photos for this episode.

"Kick the Ballistics" is scheduled to air tonight, October 10th, at 10/9C on ABC.

Even in the midst of all the drama and confusion generated by the polemic set of pictures, I have to say that I am a lot more excited about the clips released today.

"Kick the Ballistics" will feature the return of the 3XK storyline and, if the videos are anything to go by, I think we have a really, really good episode to look forward to next Monday. In case you don't remember, the 3XK was the serial killer that fooled everyone and escaped with Detective Ryan's gun and badge in early season 3. Now, even though it looks like we won't be seeing Jerry Tyson (aka the 3XK) in this episode, his presence will be felt as the murder weapon used to kill the victim of the week will be identified as Ryan's old service piece.

I am really looking forward to this as this episode will finally be Seamus Dever's moment in the sun. We had an Esposito episode back in season 2 and now we will finally get to see the way overdue Ryan episode. Go ahead and check out the clips below. While you're at it, check out the promotional photos for "Kick the Ballistics" and, in case you haven't seen the polemic "Eye of the Beholder" photos, click here.

Photos: Castle 4.04 "Kick The Ballistics"

Not only are we getting an all new Castle episode tonight, but ABC has just released the promotional photos for the highly anticipated episode "Kick the Ballistics", which will feature the return of the 3XK storyline. In case you don't remember, Jerry Tyson, aka the Triple X Killer, aka the 3XK, is a serial killer who made three victims last season and is the only murderer who has escaped right through our dynamic duo's fingers. To make a long story short, he fooled everyone and ended up holding Castle and Ryan hostage. In the end, he knocked Ryan unconscious and escaped with his gun and badge.

That loose thread is exactly what "Kick the Ballistics" is all about. In the episode, scheduled to air on October 10th, a young woman will be murdered and the murder weapon will be Detective Ryan's old service piece. Now Castle, Beckett, Ryan and Esposito must rush against time to solve the murder, track down 3XK and retrieve Ryan's gun before the killer strikes again.

This has been a much talked about episode since the end of season 3, when Castle's creator, Andrew Marlowe, teased that the 3XK storyline would be revisited this season. I really hope this is Seamus Dever's chance to shine. An episode about Ryan has been entirely overdue and I am very excited that we will finally get to see more of him. Here is hoping this will be an opportunity to learn more about him.

Tonight on Castle: 4.02 "Heroes & Villains"

After kicking off its 4th season last week with quite a bang (the ratings were very impressive), ABC's hit show Castle returns this week with a rather unusual episode. Featuring what is probably the most gruesome murder yet (although the one in the pizza episode last season is a serious contender for the first place in this competition), "Heroes & Villains" will have Castle and Beckett diving in head first into the world of comic books and superheroes as they investigate the murder of an ex-con who was mysteriously slain in an alley. Our favorite dynamic duo believes a vigilante is behind the murder. Their main suspect, however, roams the city in a Superhero costume - and may just actually be a Superhero.

From the sneak peeks posted last week, we also know that this episode will be dealing with the fact that Alexis is excited about joining her boyfriend, Ashley, at Stanford - all the way across the country - as soon as possible. Castle is obviously not happy about that and I am willing to bet he will be struggling with this throughout the episode and will most likely seek Kate's advice on the matter.

"Heroes & Villains" will also feature the launch of Richard Castle's Deadly Storm, the official Castle graphic novel, which is already available for purchase. Don't forget to check out the promotional photos for this episode and, in case you missed it last week or need a refresher about what happened during the season 4 premiere, take a look at my "Rise" review.

Castle is scheduled to air tonight, September 26th, at 10/9c on ABC. Check out the sneak peek below.

Castle: Stana Katic on How Beckett is in Love With Castle & What's Ahead For This Season

Stana Katic is probably the best advocate of the shippers that desperately want Castle and Beckett to get together already. Out of the entire cast, she is the one who has always supported the idea of the two leads pursuing a romantic relationship and how that would not ruin the show. There is no Moonlighting curse, people. All there is here is good writing and bad writing. We have examples on both so we know it is possible to be successful after the two leads finally resolve that sexual tension that drives the fans crazy.

Katic sat down with TV Line's Matt Mitovich, and revealed just what is going on in Detective Kate Beckett's mind after everything that went down since the season 3 finale. Poor girl has had a lot going on: her Captain and mentor betrayed her and then died to protect her, she got shot and almost died, Castle declared his undying love for her and she has absolutely no leads on her mother's case anymore. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster, right? It's no surprise that she went back to her therapy sessions, even after being approved in her psich evaluation.

So at this point, she's stuck in a really hard place, in which she has finally realized that she loves Castle right back, but she can't pursue anything with anyone (romantically) until she solves her mother's murder and put this whole thing to rest once and for all.

"There’s also that fear for Beckett. It took her pretty much all of first season just to look at him as a cohort, as a really great partner, so why sacrifice that unless you’re completely sure that the other person’s going to dedicate themselves to making a relationship work?" She explains.

When asked about why Kate would lie about not remembering anything, Stana explains what she thinks is going through Beckett's mind:

"One of the reasons is that she realized over this experience, while in northern New York at her father’s cabin, that she herself has always kind of kept one foot out the door in a relationship. She has probably gotten into relationships and maybe known that there was a way out if she needed it, because there was this looming thing that she needed to do, a chapter that she needed closure on, which was her mum’s murder. She knows that she now would be a danger to any relationship that she would get into unless she can close that, so she’s not willing to admit to Castle that she feels the same way."

Katic also says that one of the reasons that Beckett may not be ready for a relationship with Castle is because she may still see him as a player, as someone who may not be faithful in a relationship. She knows he is a great friend and trusts him, but this is also a guy that has two failed marriages on his back and, for all she knows, he may have been the reason both marriages didn't work.

Now both characters are stuck in a catch 22. Beckett won't be ready for anything real with Castle until she solves her mother's murder and Castle can't let her investigate it or she will be murdered. Not to mention that they are both keeping major secrets from each other. I am willing to bet that when those secrets come out, things will not be pleasant. "I think that her first reaction is she would be pissed." The actress says. "Because for her that’s the one thing she has to finish in order to get on with things, and to get into a relationship – hopefully with him, because she is crazy about him. She is in love with him. And throughout this season I’m looking for moments for that to shine. That was part of a discussion with Andrew and some of our creatives here: I feel, as the actor performing it, like the audience has had so much insight into what’s going on in Castle’s mind, because he has this outlet, his family, and Beckett doesn’t. So we’ve created this psychiatrist character (played by Michael Dorn) who’s an avenue. But I’ve also looked for private moments, as an actor, where Castle might not be looking but she can at least show [her feelings]."

Personally, I am all for seeing more of Beckett outside of the precinct and talking to a friend or even her dad. I am a big fan of Scott Paulin's Jim Beckett and I am really hoping they will bring him back sometime this season. I find that whenever he is in an episode, we get to see a different side of Kate, thus getting more private moments and thoughts from the detective. Lanie would be a great bridge to Beckett's world too because it seems that they played up that friendship in season 1 and then it kind of fell into the backburner until now. Just having a girlfriend to talk about what's going on in your head would be a great way to balance Castle's family life and get an insight into Beckett's thoughts.

Stana also teases the Superhero episode airing tomorrow night and says that they had a blast filming it. "She relates to the superhero that’s doing what he’s doing, because she’s a form of a superhero – in my mind, at least!"

Parks and Recreation 4.01 "I'm Leslie Knope" Review

The smell of fresh fall air can only mean one thing. Parks and Recreation is back for another fun-filled year of wild office antics and crazy one liners. This year starts off right where last season ended with Leslie Knope being approached to run for office. Will this new opportunity for power, will Leslie (Amy Poehler) give up her relationship with Ben (Adam Scott) so she can fulfill her dream? And will Tom (Aziz Ansari) still be apart of the show even though he no longer works for Leslie? Continue on readers to find out.

The first thing that anyone would have noticed about this episode is that Tom is in very little of it. After starting an entertainment company with friend Jean Ralphio (Ben Schwartz), I knew that we would see little of Tom but even with the little we did see, Tom didn't fail. Granted he was only in two scenes, he stole the screen during those moments by giving away free swag for Entertainment 720 (I could definitely use one of those fireplace bellows myself) and trying to get Andy (Chris Pratt) to join his company, which in the end Andy has no idea what the company even does. I can only hope if the writers do use less of Tom that they fill his moments with great one liners and events we know Tom is good for.

The real meat of the story this week focused on Leslie, dealing with having to break up with Chris before she can announce her candidacy and Ann (Rashida Jones) dealing with every male in the government building emailing her their penis' so they can get medical analysis. While there was some funny moment from both, Ann's story seemed to outshine Leslie's. Yes, it is going to be great to see Leslie as she hilariously runs for office but, seeing timid Ann this week deal with all the men's photos was the higher point. Of course, this story was a hilarious parody of the Anthony Weiner controversy that happened a few months ago. I have to hand it to the writers for tackling such a recent current event for an episode.

On top of those two stories, there also were two minor side stories, both centering around my two favorite characters, Andy and Ron (Nick Offerman). The story of Andy trying to figure out what his dream is, was touched upon briefly but, in the end he was giving a great opportunity and accepted to be Leslie's campaign assistant. No doubt will this lead to hilarious moments down the road during Leslie's campaign run. On the other story, Ron (who was last seen escaping from the office) hid himself in a cabin to escape from his ex-wife, Tammy One (Patricia Clarkson). While we got little screen time from Ron, we did find out that Ron has less than ten, and possibly less than nine toes. We of course found this information out when Leslie visted Ron at his cabin and, he tells her in my favorite line of the night "I have the toes that I have". The delivery by Ron in this scene was so great that I couldn't help but laugh really hard. It was nice to see Ron return to the Parks Department, letting us know we won't miss Ron as much in the next episode.

With all that happened this episode, Parks and Recreation really has a lot going for it. I can't wait to see where the season goes. I just hope we get enough screen time for all the major players in the Parks and Recreation cast instead of tiny bits per episode. A-

So what did all of you think? Are you on board for the new season or think that this week showed that Parks and Recreation is running out of steam. Sound off in our comments section below.
