The new Steven Spielberg show for Fox, Terra Nova, kind of reminds me of Jurassic Park. Since I really liked Jurassic Park (and Spielberg), this makes me think I'll enjoy the series. But very few details about the show are known and I think it's because a lot hasn't happened yet - at least not a lot that the public is privy to.
Terra Nova was supposed to have a panel at Comic Con a few weeks ago, but the panel was canceled. The reason given was that there just wasn't enough to talk about yet, nor was there footage to show during the panel. Now, we've learned that the show, which was supposed to premiere on Fox during mid-season, has now been pushed back to Fall 2011. This is probably a good idea. I would rather wait another year and have them produce a great quality show than see something that's been rushed through development and production.
We will, however, get a glimpse at the new show in May 2011. Much like they did with Glee last year, Fox intends to show the pilot episode in May and then return with new episodes in the Fall. TV Guide reports that at the recent TCA panel, Fox explained the delay and the May showing:
"It was mainly due to the scope of what this show is going to take," Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly said about the delay at the Television Critics Association's fall previews. "Hopefully we'll be able to recreate the same thing we did with Glee."
Like I said, we don't know much about this new time-traveling show, but we do know that Jason O'Mara (formerly of Life on Mars) will star in the series.
An epic family adventure 85 million years in the making, is the new event drama slated for midseason from executive producers Steven Spielberg (“Jurassic Park,” “The Pacific”), Peter Chernin, Brannon Braga (24, “Star Trek: Enterprise”) and David Fury (24, “Lost”). The action-adventure series follows an ordinary family on an extraordinary journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a part of a massive expedition to save the human race.
Will this be the exact same show as Earth 2?
