The Carrie Diaries: Richard Kohnke to Recur as Carrie’s Love Interest

Carrie Bradshaw may have had two great loves as an adult, but her teenage years are looking to be the place where she tested the waters.
According to Deadline, newcomer Richard Kohnke has signed on to recur on The Carrie Diaries as a potential love interest for Carrie. He’ll be playing George Silver, an entitled Upper East Sider taking a gap year between prep school and college; there’s been no word as to how George will run across Carrie, but with her career in the New York fashion industry only just beginning, it’s likely that she meets him at an event.
Carrie has lived a fairly sheltered life thus far and being around someone from a privileged background might be intimidating, though being thrown into the adult deep end could force her to adapt quickly. If she does manage to do that, the guys from Connecticut may lose the luster they once had and she could set her sights on making her temporary gig in the city more permanent.
Kohnke has appeared on an episode of recently canceled Common Law, in addition to minor roles in Pitch Perfect, Mighty Fine, and From the Rough. He’ll be joined by fellow recurring players/guest stars Scott Cohen and Kyle Harris, who will be playing his father and Carrie’s friend Mouse’s boyfriend, respectively.
The Carrie Diaries stars AnnaSophia Robb as Carrie, Austin Butler as Carrie’s (other) love interest Sebastian, Chloe Bridges as aspiring model Donna LaDonna, Ellen Wong as Carrie’s best friend Jill (aka Mouse), and Freema Agyeman as Carrie’s mentor Larissa.
The Carrie Diaries premieres Monday, January 14th at 8:00 on The CW. You can check out a preview for the series, based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell, here.
Will you be watching The Carrie Diaries? How will Carrie react to meeting interested, eligible, good-looking men in the city? Do you think we’ll see her get into a relationship before the end of the season?
