The Client List Promo: Addicted to Love

the client listSometimes a pre-premiere promo can turn you off a little to its respective series. It can either be too long, too loud, not that informative, or give just enough away where you know it won't be the show for you. Luckily for the latest promo for The Client List, it's not facing any of those problems.

At all.

Decidedly more fun and flirty than the last promo, it's laced with Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love" and random flashes of Jennifer Love Hewitt being gorgeous, text reading "love is complicated", and the possible hint of romance for Hewitt's character Riley Parks. You may not be getting huge plot points or any sense of what Riley has to face during her time at the "massage parlor", but The Client List is showing that it has a with-a-wink sense of humor that could come in handy this season. It's obviously not a comedy or anything, but there's a certain frothy, breezy vibe to everything that I'm looking forward to checking out.

The only question left is how light The Client List will be, in terms of overall tone. There are some pretty deep issues that could be played with, in terms of the economy, sexuality, morality, and so forth; it's all a matter of how deep and dark the show is willing to go, both into Riley's psyche upon the major life change and the industry in which she's decided to work.

The Client List premieres Sunday, April 8th at 10:00 on Lifetime. You can view the other three promo videos for the season, including a steamy performance of "Hey, Big Spender", here and here.

Are you planning on checking out The Client List? Would you want them to go darker, stay lighter, or keep in balanced, in terms of tone? What do you think about the most recent promo (below)?
