The Good Wife

Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) was a stay at home mother and wife to State’s Attorney Peter Florrick (Chris Noth), until a sex scandal lost Peter his job, landed him in prison and put their marriage in jeopardy. After these events, Alicia went back to work as a lawyer, a career that she had left 15 years ago to focus on her family.  The Good Wife explores both the legal and the political landscape of Chicago, as creators Robert and Michelle King have expertly entwined the two.

Now in its third season, The Good Wife has seen Alicia work her way up from first-year associate to a third-year lawyer on the partner track, and Alicia has been contending with both personal and professional issues along the way. Alicia’s marriage is floundering and she has been separated from Peter all year after discovering that he had engaged in an affair with her best friend Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) during his first time in the SA's office. Peter is State’s Attorney once again and is trying to maintain a clean office, though his personal disagreement with Will Gardner (Josh Charles), who he suspected of having an affair with Alicia, has made this a rather difficult task.
