They may sound like a rather odd pairing, but Bruce Springsteen and CBS’s The Good Wife are teaming up for a little bit of cross promotion in a week. Springsteen’s got a new album coming out called “High Hopes,” and there will be a bunch of music from it featured on The Good Wife on January 12th.
“In addition, three songs from the album, the title track “High Hopes,” “Hunter of Invisible Game” and “The Ghost of Tom Joad,” will be featured in THE GOOD WIFE on Sunday, Jan. 12 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT). In the episode, “We, the Juries,” Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Will (Josh Charles) each represent one-half of a couple accused of smuggling drugs, but the courtroom becomes mired in confusion and legal technicalities when they insist on separate juries for each client. ”
Wow, three songs in one episode? How are they going to work that in subtly? Sadly, Bruce himself isn’t on the show, but he might as well be for how often he’ll be heard.
This makes sense because of the age of the audience of The Good Wife and the age of Bruce Springsteen’s fanbase. Not to say that younger folks don’t enjoy either, as both Bruce and TGW are great, but generally speaking, both fanbases tend to skew older. If Bruce is your bag, you won’t want to miss The Good Wife next week.
