Michael J. Fox to Return to The Good Wife This Season

Following his loss at the Creative Arts Emmys and a self-deprecating guest turn on Sunday's Curb Your Enthusiasm season finale, Michael J. Fox is set to return to The Good Wife for season 3, according to TVLine. Fox, who plays the manipulative attorney Louis Canning, will be appearing on the critically lauded legal drama for 3-4 episodes this season.

However, no other details have been confirmed, so those wondering when Canning will be dropping by (and what the wily lawyer will be up to) may have to wait just a little longer to find out.

Though focusing on raising awareness for Parkinson's in recent years, Fox hasn't left acting completely behind, having turned in memorable appearances on Scrubs, Boston Legal, and Rescue Me, the latter of which earned him a fifth Emmy. He's best known, of course, for his role as old soul Alex P. Keaton on the 80s sitcom Family Ties and as Marty McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy.

The Good Wife will be premiering its third season on Sunday, September 25th at 9:00, following the season premiere of The Amazing Race.

What do you think Louis Canning will be up to when we check back in with him?
