Will Alicia run for state attorney?
That’s the question that was posed by Eli Gold (Alan Cummings) at the end of the season five finale of The Good Wife, and it’s still the question that’s being asked to Julianne Margulies’ character in this new promo for season six of the CBS legal drama. However, it seems that Alicia has considered his offer and has his answer.
“I’m never saying yes,” Alicia tells Eli in the new teaser.
“You could win,” he responds, promising her that she has a better chance of winning than anyone thinks.
Other potentially major storylines for season six of The Good Wife feature Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) attempting to pitch Alicia on a new merger that would allow them to have “the biggest firm in the country,” and despite Alicia’s partner, Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry), seeming not so happy about the whole ordeal, it appears that this game-changer will happen, as, during the trailer, Alicia utters the words “We are now Florrick, Agos and Lockhart.” Plus, fans can also quickly catch guest stars Michael J. Fox and new addition Taye Diggs, who also make appearances in the new promo.
The Good Wife, which earned an Emmy this year for Margulies’ performance as Alicia despite not receiving a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series for, what many critics called, the show’s best season yet, will offer “more serialization” and be “more complex in the storytelling” during season six, according to showrunner Robert King. The series will also feature Frasier star David Hyde Pierce, in his first major TV role in over 10 years, as a recurring guest star throughout the upcoming season.
Season six of The Good Wife premieres on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. on CBS. Watch the new promo below.
