Tonight on The Good Wife: Old Enemies Return
The Good Wife is back tonight with several characters, both old and new attempting to assert their power. This has been a fantastic season for guest stars (time to praise the casting department once again) and Grey's Anatomy alum T.R. Knight joins the ever growing list as an old rival of Eli's (Alan Cumming). Stopping by Lockhart Gardner to make their affairs even more precarious are Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) and Wendy Scott-Carr (Anika Noni Rose), the latter is probably still smarting from her last encounter with Will (Josh Charles).
Let's start with the firm and the focus this season has been on their dire financial situation, which was in part caused by Canning (and Patti Nyholm - sadly not appearing tonight). Once again there is a big case that could net the firm millions and therefore give control back to Will and Diane (Christine Baranski). However as we've seen with the other vital cases in recent episodes, it's not going to be an easy slam-dunk. Canning's plans to thwart Lockhart Gardner's big win involves delaying a deposition that is crucial to Will's argument. Alicia (Julianna Margulies) already has an established relationship with Canning and therefore Alicia is tasked with handling all things Canning. Whenever Michael J. Fox appears on The Good Wife it is a lot of fun and so I have high hopes for this episode.
One guest star who has been exceptional this year is Nathan Lane as the court appointed trustee Clarke Hayden. Hayden has helped with previous cases, but after Diane and Will ruined Hayden's chances of selling the firm it looks like the niceties are over. Hayden wants both Diane and Will to be removed from their managerial positions and this isn't the only obstacle that they face, as Wendy Scott-Carr swings by to confiscate some files.
It's not all doom and gloom though as Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) has solved her (and the viewers) Nick (Marc Warren) problem. It was all left rather vague as to how she disposed of him, with murder being one option and I don't mind this resolution remaining unanswered if it allows Kalinda to be Kalinda again. One Kalinda based story that we can expect to see explored further is her complicated relationship with Cary (Matt Czuchry) and if this means more screen time for Cary then this is already a positive move.
Last month we revealed details of T.R. Knight's multi-episode arc as Jordan Karahalios a political advisor and old rival of Eli's. Jordan is recruited to Peter's campaign and this will not sit well with Eli; in the promo below you can see that Eli is rather despondent. Eli is a fighter of course, so this dejected appearance shouldn't last for too long hopefully.
What would you like to see happen on The Good Wife in 2013?

As you said it’s just another “one Kalinda based story”. It’s not enough to make up for the criminal lack of storyline for Cary. The character deserves his own storyline like everyone else and more than just being Kalinda’s love interest/friend.
