this show got off to a great start, but because of a mix of reruns and original shows, it is now mired in confusion.why is the husband on a religious kick, for example? why is it necessary to bring the third partner back into the picture? Why is it necessary to have the firm in financial trouble? there are just too many things going on for the show to have any cohesion. I was hoping the show would be about the wife and her challenges at the law firm. the husband and his troubles are just detracting from what could be a very good show.another complaint - on too many occasions, there will be two or three people carrying on a discussion, and there will be loud and distracting music in the background, such that it is hard to hear the dialogue. the two young people - the male lawyer and the female investigator - both talk in low, mumbling voices. this is very frustrating, and again, distracting.your show, off to a great start, needs to find its original footing again. the cast is great, although Noth tends to ham things up too much. Just keep the focus on the wife and how she handles cases, as well as how she deals with the two principals. enough of the husband getting religion. enough with the young male lawyer and his involvement. stick with "the good wife" and the two main lawyers and you will have a good show. keep the kids and the mother in law in the background. also, the Stern character is a waste of time and another distraction.someone in the business told me a while back that movies and TV shows need to be LINEAR; that is, move from point A to point B, not jump all over the place. good advice for this show.

The writing was smart, the episode was extremely well-paced, and Julianna Margulies was really great. I expected good things from the show because of the reviews, but it certainly exceeded my expectations. I would rank The Good Wife as perhaps the best new show this year along with Flash Forward (I've watched the pilot). Full review of the episode on my blog.
