The Originals: First Behind the Scenes Photos of Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies and Phoebe Tonkin

Will a Vampire Diaries spin-off have a place on The CW’s schedule in 2013-2014?  There’s a good chance that might happen if Vampire Diaries fans respond well to the April 25 episode, titled “The Originals”.

“The Originals” will essentially serve as a back-door pilot to a spin-off series that would feature Vampire Diaries stars Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies and Phoebe Tonkin reprising their roles of Klaus, Elijah and Hayley, respectively.  The episode (and series) will move the action from Mystic Falls to the city of New Orleans, a city that Klaus apparently helped found back in the day.  While there, he is reunited with someone from his past: a former protégé named Marcel.  Claire Holt will also appear in the episode as Rebekah.

Chris Grismer – who has worked on The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle and Pretty Little Liars – is directing the episode and he recently tweeted two behind the scenes photos of the cast.

View the photos below and make sure to tune in to this special episode of The Vampire Diaries on April 25 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
