The Real Housewives of Atlanta 5.01 Sneak Peek: A New Day in the “A”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 5If you were one of the few who missed the 15 minute sneak peek of The Real Housewives of Atlanta season five premiere, well you are in luck.

BravoTV.com has the first 15 minutes of the highly anticipated episode for your viewing pleasure, but here we will show you some other clips you can expect from tonight’s premiere. But before we get to that, here’s a theory on how the new opening credits for The Real Housewives of Atlanta could be a clue to a certain event later in the season that we would like to share with you first.

If you watched Bravo’s First Look of the RHOA premiere, you would notice that not only did the women get to prance around during a new, glammed up, opening sequence, but that new Housewife Porsha Stewart was nowhere to be seen. We know she’s not a “Friend of the Housewives” ala Marlo Hampton from last season and is a full-fledged Real Housewife of Atlanta. We also know about Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s lack of filming with the other women during production of the fifth season and we also know that Kim is allegedly getting her own show ala Bethenny Frankel. So with all those elements at play, maybe Kim will actually leave The Real Housewives of Atlanta midseason, making room for Porsha Stewart to enter the cast and carry a peach in the opening credits? Just a thought for you to chew on as you watch tonight’s episode.

The first clip showcases Cynthia Bailey having an open call for Jet’s Beauty of the Week spread and having castmate and new Housewife Kenya Moore to help judge the hopeful models for the ‘coveted’ spot. We don’t know if this will be Kenya’s actual introduction to the viewers, but if it is? It’s not cute. At. All. She’s already grating our nerves from gate and this scene makes her look mighty thirsty for attention. Not a good first impression if she wants to achieve any shred of likeability from Real Housewives fans.

Yea, Kenya might want to get ready to read some scathing reviews in the morning…

The next clip features NeNe Leakes and her ex-Gregg discussing her possible move to L.A. while she shoots her new show, The New Normal. We all know what will eventually happen with that particular venture, but it seems that NeNe’s business partner/smitten gift buyer John is a thing of the past and Greg could be her future.

We never liked NeNe and Greg apart anyway, so we’re glad to see them together in some capacity. Hopefully, it will stick this time.

The final clip is of NeNe meeting with Ryan Murphy as the two discuss future storylines for Rocky, NeNe’s character on The New Normal. Honestly, it’s a bit odd to see Murphy and NeNe discuss The New Normal before it became the hit we know it as on NBC, but what was equally odd (or embarrassing) was what happens at the end of this clip.

Wonder if Tyler Perry ever gave NeNe his new number… Hmmm.
