The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Has Sheree Whitfield Really Been Fired From The Show?

The Real Housewives of AtlantaOn the heels of the recent announcement of Camille Grammar not returning to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills comes news of that the Real Housewives of Atlanta might be losing one of their own as well.

Both Media Take Out and Straight From The A reported late yesterday that original RHOA Housewife Sheree Whitfield was "fired" from the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast by the show's producers. According to MTO, the alleged firing took place before Bravo commenced their upfront ceremony yesterday, telling Sheree that her "services were no longer needed," despite flying her all the way to NYC to take part in the upfront ceremony. The site also claimed that Sheree's reaction to the news involved "tears," "begging," and declarations of how much she "needed the money" from her appearances on the show. Sheree was nowhere to be found during Bravo's Upfronts Ceremony, which not only sent speculation of her firing into overdrive

Earlier today, MTO added more gossip to the firestorm by claiming that NeNe Leakes, Sheree's nemesis and co-star on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, had a hand in Sheree being booted from the show. MTO sources say that NeNe gave Bravo the "Either I leave, or they leave!" ultimatum, which forced the network's hand to send Sheree on her way.

So could this season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta be Sheree's last? Maybe. But I'm not buying it.

Even though I don't care much for Sheree Whitfield on RHOA, I still can't help but find the reports of her "firing" to be a bit over the top, especially with the NeNe angle added to it. For starters, why would NeNe want Bravo to fire Sheree and not Kim, who she was the most beef with? Secondly, why would NeNe care about who stays and who goes on the show anyway, especially if her NBC pilot gets picked up or her role on Glee is extended into next year?

Finally, if Sheree did receive a pink slip from the Real Housewives of Atlanta, I doubt that she would have resorted to "begging" and pleading to keep her spot on the show. Not only does that sound beneath her, but it also comes across as predictable piece of fan fiction from a Sheree detractor, especially with the money bit.

However, with all that being said, I also wouldn't put it past Bravo to do something shady to get a point across to their Bravolebrities. I just don't think that was the case this go round. So what do you guys think? Has Sheree given her last cutting remark ever this season? Do you really believe that she's on a "one week vacation" with family and friends (which is not that far-fetched since RHOA co-star Kim Zolciak wasn't at the Upfronts for the same reason) as Sheree claimed on her Twitter account? Or do you think Sheree will be back on Real Housewives of Atlanta in top form next year?

I like the RHOA and I like Sheree, I just think she can be a bit too much. She has been talking like she has all this class and all this money and seriously, I have not seen it yet. I don’t like it when anyone gets fired especially in this economy. However, this season, she has hit below the belt one too many times. Do I think NeNe had a hand in it, no. I think Sheree’s role was boring, nothing changed, She by Sheree has never really took off and she is not taking advantage of her 15 minutes of fame. Let’s face it, she talked about getting 7 figures 1st season, then She by Sheree 2nd season and now this mess, horrible.
