Well, people. It has been made official.
Danielle Staub's hugs of forgiveness earlier tonight was the last time she will appear on the show, according to the official Bravo TV blog and Andy Cohen himself.
"The reunion was Danielle's last appearance on The Real Housewives of New Jersey," Cohen said on the blog. "We thought the hugs were a great way to end two seasons of bitterness between the women."
Well, there you have it. Right from the head honcho's mouth. Now, you can plan that "Goodbye To You" party for Danielle Staub, if you must. Just make sure to leave an invite in my email, please and thank you. However, on a serious tip: It will be kind of odd not seeing her with the cast, which begs to question what type of show will we see next year? I'm a bit scared, honestly.
OH! How we found out the official news? Through Twitter. Bang up job, Bravo!
D.C.
Over in D.C., The Daily Beast spoke with D.C. Housewife Cat Ommanney about her side of the story in the divorce from her husband, Charles Ommanney, that imploded after taping ended for the show's first season. As I suspected, Cat is clearly hurt from
Charles's claims that doing Housewives was the one thing he regrets in his entire life. “I’m not in a very happy place,” Cat tells the Daily Beast, who said that she sounded beat down during the interview. "Now I'm three stone lighter, and I've lost all my family."
After taping ended on Season One of RHODC, Cat not only lost Charles, but she was forced to send her daughters, Ruby and Jade, to school in the U.K. When she read about Charles' disdain for doing the show in the New York Times, Cat reveals that it was Charles' boss at Newsweek that suggested Cat join the show. "So I find it quite ironic that Charles is obviously portrayed as being—everyone is feeling sorry for Charles, while I’m completely put out in the cold," Cat remarked. And she's right.
I knew something didn't sit well with me about the NY Times piece with Charles Ommanney, because it read as if his career was in shambles and that he was hurting for work. I personally don't follow Mr. Ommanney's work for Newsweek, but I don't think that the show harmed his career the way the New York Times made it seem. In fact, I hadn't even heard of Charles Ommanney until the cast was announced, and I don't think I am the only one in that assumption, either.
The article also talks about Cat's role as a villain on the show and the misrepresentation she got from Stacie as having 'racist tendencies.' "I think there’s always got to be a villain in any show. But I didn’t imagine myself to be set up to be the villain."
When asked will she return for a second season, Cat says she's not interested. Does that mean she's out? We are sure Bravo will let us know officially, through some shape or form, when they feel that the time is right.
What do you guys think?
