I just started reading the series The Secret Circle on the weekend in anticipation of this new pilot (which I believe will make it onto The CW schedule in the Fall) and I'm really enjoying the books. We've already been informed that Britt Robertson, who previously starred in The CW's Life Unexpected, will be playing the main female lead character Cassie. Now, TV Line has reported that Thomas Dekker will be playing the mysterious male lead, Adam.
You may remember Dekker from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I approve of this casting. I liked Dekker in TSCC, even if he spent most of his time being sullen because he was the destined leader of humanity. But even being only a few chapters into The Secret Circle books, I can picture Dekker as Adam.
Of all the new pilots trying to secure a spot at The CW this year, I think I'm most excited for this one, especially with Vampire Diaries showrunner Kevin Williamson on board as the writer of the pilot. If The Secret Circle adaptation turns out to be anything like The Vampire Diaries one, the network probably has another hit on their hands.
What do you think of this casting news? Do you look forward to Dekker playing Adam?

This is awesome, I love Dekker! I can see him and Britt Robertson together. How are you liking the books so far, Clarissa? I loved them.
not adam. he's not built for adam. maybe one of the other characters, like nick he would be a perfect nick, but not the wood-god looking adam .
I always imagined Nick , as the one who looks like a God. Adam was just Cassie's soulmate. Nick was THE boy. He was not the main character or love interest, but he is the one character in the book who actually was interesting without being a martyr or trying to be a saviour.
Nick Armstrong was a sexy, sweet nice guy.
And he had the best lines.
And I love the books.
