The Secret Circle premiered to solid ratings for a new CW show last week and it seems clear that it's been paired well with The Vampire Diaries on Thursday nights.  A new episode of the series will air tonight and things are getting complicated.

Cassie's arrival in Chance Harbor essentially boosted the power of all of the Circle members, because her presence completes their group.  But as their power grows, it's increasingly more difficult to control.  Things start exploding in class and a science experiment catches on fire.  Circle leader Diana wants to bind the Circle's powers, but Faye is definitely not cool with that.  She's enjoying the fact that her personal powers are growing and doesn't want to be controlled.

Meanwhile, Cassie isn't very anxious to be a part of the Circle and just wants to be normal.  Because she's drawn to Adam and can't be with him, she's not eager to be part of any group binding.  But their attraction to each other is growing steadily.  We'll also be introduced to the older generation tonight when Faye's grandfather turns up in town and used to be part of his own Circle.
