This week we'll have to deal with the fact that Elena has been kidnapped after the masquerade ball, but the November 11 episode of The Vampire Diaries will flash back (hundreds of years) to Bulgaria, where we'll learn Katherine's origins. The CW has released promo photos from the episode, along with a short synopsis. Also, expect to see a few new faces, as three new characters will be seen in the November 11 episode (though some of them are introduced this week).
KATHERINE'S PAST IS REVEALED
Elena (Nina Dobrev) puts herself in a dangerous position as she searches for the truth about Katherine's past and what her own future may hold. Knowing that Stefan (Paul Wesley) would never agree to her plan, Elena swears Caroline (Candica Accola) to secrecy.
Damon (Ian Somerhalder) uses a new-found confidant to help him try to discover the real purpose and power of the moonstone. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Bonnie (Katerina Graham) meet Luka (guest star Bryton James), a new student with a surprising family history. J. Miller Tobin directed the episode written by Andrew Chambliss
