Let's be honest here.  The return of the full Original family on The Vampire Diaries obviously means two things: (1) awesome danger around every corner, and (2) hilarious family bickering.  For all the fact that these people are 1000 years old and powerful supernatural creatures, they're still a family.  And siblings, in particular, fight like crazy.  Take the scene featured in the producer's preview below, which involves Kol and Klaus bickering over daggering each other and the whole "this is my house!" routine.  Hilarious.

The Originals (specifically, Esther) decide to throw a fancy ball in the February 9 episode of The Vampire Diaries.  Elena, of course, gets an invitation.  Stefan and Damon are both worried that the Originals might have sinister motives in hosting this party (imagine that!) and want to accompany her in order to keep her safe, as we can see in this sneak peek we've already posted.  "It's a spectacle" EP Julie Plec explains, "And it's a messed up situation because the Original family has moved in and has kind of taken over.  They're calling the shots and making the rules.  For Elena to walk into that situation and try to have a conversation with the Original witch is not a safe place for her to be."  Adding to the problem of the Originals is the fact that Damon and Stefan are once again pitted against each other for Elena's affections.
