The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Season 3 Premiere

The Vampire Diaries Season 3 PremiereToday, The CW released the official description for the season 3 premiere of The Vampire Diaries and it's full of a few mild spoilers.

Here's what we know: the season premiere will open on the morning of Elena's 18th birthday.  Like we already knew, Caroline will be busy planning Elena's birthday party when the show resumes.  Elena, however, is less concerned with her party and more concerned with clues that could lead her to Stefan.  Damon is also interested in finding his brother, but he's busy trying to make sure Elena's own search doesn't draw attention from Klaus. Although, Klaus might not care much about Elena and Damon back in Mystic Falls, because he and Stefan are out of town, trailing a werewolf named Ray Sutton (played by guest star David Gallagher).

Jeremy has decided to join the ranks of the employed and is now working with Matt at the Mystic Grill.  He continues to see the ghosts of both Vicki and Anna.  Alaric, meanwhile, is continuing his quest to be a psuedo-parental figure to both Elena and Jeremy, even though he's still devastated about losing Jenna.  The CW also warns "Caroline and Tyler face a new and unexpected challenge".

The season 3 premiere is written by showrunners Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, so I think we're in for one hell of an episode.  The Vampire Diaries' third season will premiere on Thursday, September 15, followed by the series premiere of The Secret Circle.

Will all members of the original family be shown

  2. Common that sounds so dull… I hope the episode isn't as dull as this guide makes it out to be.

This is the basic description of the episode from the network. They're usually not very exciting or highly descriptive in terms of giving away spoilers. I'm sure the episode is going to be great and the opposite of "dull"
