Fans of The Vampire Diaries got quite a surprise at the end of the penultimate episode when Bonnie overexerted her power and killed herself. The spell she was attempting in order to defeat Silas was too much for her and, in the presence of the ghost of her grandmother, she keeled over and died. Of course, since this is Mystic Falls and the veil has been dropped, Bonnie is still corporeal. Enough so that she can hold a telephone and chat with Caroline.
In this week’s season finale, titled “Graduation”, Bonnie calls up her friend, who is unaware that she’s presently talking to a ghost. Bonnie doesn’t clue Caroline in on her present status, but she does give her some bad news: she’ll have to wait until that night’s full moon to gather the necessary power to restore the veil between worlds. That means that the students of Mystic Falls High will be forced to graduate with a plethora of ghosts running all over town making trouble. What kind of trouble? See the preview for the episode.
