There's a lot for the cast of The Vampire Diaries to be dealing with when the show returns on April 7. First there's the reappearance of Elena's mother Isobel, which leaves Jenna shook up. Both Elena and Alaric are furious at John for bringing her back into town.
Meanwhile, Bonnie will team up with both Damon and Jeremy to figure out the spell she'll need to harness her ancestors' powers - which could lead to them stopping Klaus.
Caroline is going through problems of her own. She was forced to reveal her vampire identity to her boyfriend Matt in the last episode and he ran away from her, seemingly not wanting anything to do with her. Can their relationship recover from his shock and her deception? And what happens now that Matt is aware of the existence of vampires in Mystic Falls? Will Jenna be the only one still left in the dark about the supernatural creatures in town?
And how will Katherine react to having Isobel back in town? Will the two vampires team up to double-cross Elena and the Salvatores?
