The Vampire Diaries Sneak Peek: Elena Learns Disturbing Truths in Episode 3.03

This season, The Vampire Diaries is all about revealing what a bad, bad boy Stefan was, and can still be. Despite the fact that he's run away and Elena learned some of what he's been up to these last few months, you just know she still wants to believe the best of him.

But Damon is trying to give her a reality check. In the September 29 episode of The Vampire Diaries, we'll be learning more about Stefan's past, and so will Elena. Klaus and Stefan head to Chicago and we're treated to a flashback to the 1920s, when Stefan was last in the city. In addition, a new female character will be appearing as a guest star and a former flame of Stefan's who is definitely still hung up on him.

Caroline will have to deal with her sudden appearance of her father (how was that for a surprise ending?!), while Mrs. Lockwood will have to accept her son as a werewolf.

Damon also takes Elena to Chicago since she's still so hung up on tracking Stefan. But in showing her a piece of Stefan's past, he exposes the kind of monster his brother used to be.
