The Walking Dead Season 3 Spoilers (Foilers?)

TWD_GP_310_0831_0364

Now that The Walking Dead has returned the hunt for intel on where the season is going is heating up, and some very questionable info is starting to come out of the woodwork.  I’ve collected some spoilers and rumors that promise some very interesting twists, the question is … are any of them true?   Let’s put these to the test by starting in the short term.  If this intel from episode 3.10 proves out, and you are the least bit spoiler-phobic, you might not want to read the rest of this article.

3.10 Spoilers – The Governor Strikes Back

The provider of this information claims that there will be a few more minor fire missions flown between The Prison and Woodbury, with both aiming to weaken the others defenses. Here’s what we know:

Rick allows Michonne to help defend The Prison when The Governor arrives with some of his men.  The attack has two aims:  one, to knock down the fences protecting The Prison, and two: to lead a herd of Walkers in to munch on Rick’s people.  According to the source, the attack is partially successful and Rick’s people suffer a fatal blow.  Michonne fights heroically and convinces Rick to allow her to join the group.

Give Rick a Hand

There has been a lot of speculation over whether the series will follow the comics in this one regard: Rick loses his hand to The Governor.  According to various sources this does NOT happen this season, but Rick might suffer the loss of something else.

Tyreese and Michonne

A popular rumor/spoiler making its rounds is that once she is accepted into Rick’s group, Michonne uses her leverage to earn the same for Tyreese and his people, and this kicks off a romantic arc with Michonne and Tyreese.  Having new characters join the show it would make sense that they would begin featuring in romantic story-lines as well, and I have to admit Tyreese and Michonne would make a fetching couple.

Suicide Solution

Around this point in the comic there is a shocking suicide involving Tyreese’s daughter and her boyfriend.  What happens is they vow to shoot each other at the same time, but Tyreese’s duaghter never pulls the trigger.  Tyreese famously beats the boyfriend to death, allows him to revive as a walker, then beats him to death again.

In the series, the rumors say, there will be a suicide, albeit not involving any pact.  The general consensus seems to be that there is a suicide of some form.  Whether this is from real intel, or from observant fans recognizing how the series tends to loosely track the form of the comic without adhering so closely to details, I cannot say.  If the suicide does take place, it will be either in the 15th episode or the finale.

Axel The Human Sheild

Eagle Eye fans have noted that in some promos for the second half of The Walking Dead‘s third season you can see Axel, dead, being used as a shield by Carol. That Carol!  She’s a survivor!
