The Walking Dead will be back on February 12 with the second half of its second season, and AMC has released a new poster for that return. While previous posters for the series have been long shots of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), this one gets up close, and, naturally, evokes memories of the final moments of the midseason finale, "Pretty Much Dead Already."
The Walking Dead left us with a sobering moment, in which Rick was forced to kill a zombified version of Carol's daughter Sophia after Shane's actions led to the revelation that she had been in the barn the entire time. The poster gives us a first-person perspective on what Zomphia might have seen right before Rick pulled the trigger.

What does this poster mean? I'd like to think that it symbolizes a gritty return to action for the series, which spent most of season 2 so far languishing about on Hershel's farm, with action scenes few and far between. I can understand the need for a change in pace, but when you dedicate an entire episode's subplot to something as pointless as the zombie in the well, it's time to move on. Hopefully, this poster indicates that we'll be doing just that with the show's return.

The Walking Dead returns February 12 with the midseason premiere "Nebraska" on AMC.
Is a new era. Is going to be the first episode without Darabont, i hope it's for the best and the series begins to pick up it's pace.
I'm not surprised by the 'languishing on Hershel's farm'…they warned of a 35% budget cut (think that's the number) when they let Mr. Darabont go. I understand it's cheaper to film indoors. So two blows to the series imo.
Next half of the season should reveal if TWD sinks or swims in the wake of those two negatives.
Liked the idea F.D. had, though, for the season 2 premiere – he could have pulled it off, I don't doubt. Our loss.
