Simon Cowell will be returning to reality television on Fox this fall when he'll be bringing his UK competition show, The X Factor, to the United States.
Contestants for The X Factor will be vocal groups or solo artists ages 12 and up. They'll be competing for a $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music. The first auditions for contestants will take place in front of a large audience, instead of just the judges. The X Factor judges panel will consist of Cowell, Abdul, music mogul Antonio 'L.A.' Reid, and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. Steve Jones will be hosting the show.
