The CW Orders Two More Pilots: 'Tomorrow People' and 'Blink'
The CW has now placed an order for 8 pilots in total for the 2013-2014 season. The newest pilots were confirmed today and include:
Tomorrow People: From Greg Berlanti (Arrow) and Julie Plus (Vampire Diaries). This show would be an adaptation of the 1970s UK series, which involved several young people from around the world who all have special powers (ie. teleportation, telepathy, etc). In other words, it's sort of like Heroes or X-Men, although it pre-dates both of those. What's interesting is that this would be the third show on the network being produced by Plec if it ends up getting picked up.
Blink: From David Marshall Grant (Smash). The show is described as a family drama that follows a father who is involved in a car accident that results in a coma-like situation where he can't speak or move, but can see and hear everything around him. Essentially, he narrates situations that become a "wry counterpoint to the stories and conflicts of the family and his own situation".
These pilots join six others, including Reign, Oxygen and The Hundred, as well as the Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Selection (adapted by the book of the same name) and the new Sera Gamble drama.
