TNT has officially given Rizzoli & Isles a third season renewal of 15 episodes, scheduled to premiere next summer. It was pretty much a foregone conclusion, as the show had been extremely successful on Monday nights with The Closer for a second consecutive season, and the show received yet another bump in the number of episodes ordered as reward. Only four episodes into its second season, Rizzoli & Isles will be airing regularly through mid-September, its 10th episode of the season, with three additional episodes set to premiere this winter.
There's no word on how the episodes will be divided up during season 3, however.
Based on the best-selling series of novels from Tess Gerritsen, Rizzoli & Isles tells the story of Jane Rizzoli, a gruff blue collar police detective, and Maura Isles, a privileged medical examiner, solving crimes in Boston, despite what you would think would be a tense working relationship. It's quite the opposite, as the women share a strong rapport and complement each other professionally. The series also stars Lee Thompson Young, Bruce McGill, Jordan Bridges, and Lorraine Bracco.

Jane and Maura finally get together.
Of course we're happy the series got renewed! That's awesome. I love this show. Their dynamic relationship is so cool, theyre so funny. I crack up! and oMG what i would LOVE to see but know it will NEVER happen is for Jane and Maura to finally get together. I mean seriously, this is the Gayest NON GAY show I have seen haha! I love IT!
Yea I mean I'm not gay, nor do I follow gay character driven shows. However because Angie Harmon is a Republican I decided to give this show a try. We have to represent right? Jane and Maura are the cutest couple ever, even a straight girl can see it. More sexual innuendos please. Let them move in together. Never really date guys, see jealousy, but no one really has to say they are a couple it's just sort of there.. That's more of what I would like to see.

It'd be great if the show actually followed a plot from the novels… they had the surgeon in season one, how about the another serial killer. Also Jane and Maura could use more of a social life.

I'm very happy that Rizzoli and Isle is making a season three, it's a very intense show. What I would like to see more of is twisted crimes that are just mind blowing to think about, more danger for them, unthinkable situations. Little more like season one with that guy who was crazy over Jane,stuff like that. Think about the movie 7 or taking lives, story lines. Also let them have more girls night out, some fun with the family, the mother and the brothers as if it was her family.
This show is freaking amazing! I'm very excited for the third season. I would like to see Jane and Maura get together or at least them spending more time together outside of work. Their relationship dynamic is hilarious and they work very well together. The homicides are also very good.
I think this show is excellent. NO , do not make them gay. It is a show about best friends who understand and support each other. I like how they interact with each other. I laugh so hard it reminds me of my bestfriend and me. My best friend married my brother and so I think it is funny how Dr. Isles is playing chess with Tommy. Great show keep the writing the same it keeps the viewers coming back for more, showing just a little bit more each time of their backgrounds and personalities. Great Job writers!!!

i have literally become an addict of rizzoli and isles. i definitely want to see them admit to themselves and each other that they like each other, i mean the sexual undertones and situations that they're put in is pretty obvious for a NO THIS IS NOT A GAY SHOW, lol, but i personally think they r cute together and i'm not even gay. just get together already, and i also like the plot of every episode thus far.
I would like to see more sexual innuendo between Jane and Maura. Jane will reunite with Dean and get to blow off some steam but the relationship won't last. Maura will get to blow off some steam with Jane's brother and that relationship won't last either. The only relationship on that show that has real staying power is the one between Jane and Maura.
put them together already, geez, its the only reason i watch the show

I'm not american person. Sorry for spelling errors/the bad writing, but also think that Jane and Maura are great together as a couple. They're reaaly cute… I'll love to see more sexual and dangerous situations for them, and Jane and Maura admit to themselves a stronger affection, attraction and LOVE they have to each other. So happy the series got renewed! This shows is very freaking amazing! So put them together already …. even if slowly. Congratulations TNT for this show.
I love this show sooo MUCHH. I hope there will be many more seasons because it is amazing. I think that Maura and tommy should get together.
They're just best friends. I love that there's a show about best friends. Everyone wants everything to be about romance these days. I love that this stays realistic. They have disagreements, they get over them. They see guys who are totally wrong for them, or fall for a guy half way across the world in Afghanistan. It's a wonderful show that brings real life to bear instead of everything being happy clappy TV sitcom happy ending cliches of everyone falls in love exactly as predicted. Keep them best friends. No romance between the two! It wouldn't even fit Jane's character. She is a very obvious heterosexual and honestly it's also refreshing to see a TV show that lets a tough woman stay a tough woman rather than being a sex object or a lesbian just because she isn't prissy.

i think they should put them in a situation where at least the curiosity gets the best of them together and they "experiment" and see how it plays out.obviously their is an attraction to each other,socome on writers,play with the possibility.i think they would find out their true feelings that they have been trying to ignore
I love Rizzoli and Maura. They are fit in and work very well together, unconditional friendship and so funny. Would love to see season 3 soon.
I do not want to see them as a couple. They are a best friend crime fighting duo! to put them together romantically would throw off the course of the show. I think the idea of maybe an experminent or a cliff hanger where you gotta say maybe they were curious there! but no long lasting romance for Maura and Jane. I agree as well with the above post season 1 should have started with that guy obbessing over Jane as an episode. You see blurbs of what happened it could have been a great story line for an episode.
