Treme Spoilers - New Regular Cast Member

When Treme returns next year, they'll be trying really hard to keep us from feeling the loss of John Goodman's Creighton Burnette, who committed suicide at the end of last season in a heartbreaking twist. Of course his absence will still be conspicuous, and I doubt it'll be dramatically underplayed. Instead, the series is adding a couple of new regular spots in order to fill the gaping hole that was left in the cast. To do that, they're getting Jon Seda.

You probably recognize Jon Seda from another HBO series that was actually airing at the same time as Treme's first season: The Pacific was the lead-in to the New Orleans drama this spring, and was absolutely amazing. Seda portrayed Basilone, a highly decorated soldier who simply couldn't escape the war. Seda, along with James Badge Dale (now starring on AMC's Rubicon), was one of the main leads of the series, and really did well with the tragic role. Now, he's going to swap time slots and head "down in the Treme," for the show's second season, Deadline says.

"He is expected to play a developer and venture capitalist from Texas who gets involved with the efforts to rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina," Digital Spy is reporting.

Treme is expected to return for its second season next fall.
