The fourth season of True Blood will be premiering on HBO on June 26. Season 4 will have 12 episodes.
Apparently the fourth season of True Blood will be loosely based on the fourth Charlaine Harris novel "The Southern Vampire Mysteries". Creator Alan Ball also says that witches will be playing a big part in the season.
True Blood will also be getting several new cast members. Fiona Shaw (who played Aunt Petunia in the Harry Potter series) will be joining the cast as Marnie - a palm reader who is possessed by the spirit of a very powerful witch. Courtney Ford (formerly on Dexter) will be playing Andy's sister, Portia Bellefleur. In addition, Janina Gavankar (The Gates) will be playing a school teacher/shapeshifter named Luna, Alexandra Breckenridge (Life Unexpected) will be playing a wicca named Daisy, Vedette Lim will be playing a cage fighter named Naomi, and Daniel Buran will be playing the pack master of the Shreveport werewolves, named Roaul.
In addition, vampire spokeslady Nan Flannigan has been promoted to series regular, and Allan Hyde will be returning as Godric.
HBO has released the first real trailer of season 4 footage. Looks like we're in for some hot and heavy Sookie-Eric scenes!
HBO has also released the synopsis for the season 4 premiere episode: "Sookie journeys away from Bon Temps; Eric and Bill try to win back the human public; Jason learns that no good deed goes unpunished; Tara finds refuge in close quarters; Sam bonds with his own; Hoyt and Jessica debate the dinner menu; Jesus urges Lafayette to join a coven; Terry tries to alleviate Arleneʼs fears about the baby."
