True Blood stars Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) and Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) are engaged, according to a report in US Magazine. This isn’t some off-the-fang thing though, apparently the duo have been dating since they met at the True Blood auditions where they hit it off immediately.
On True Blood, Paquin plays a telepathic innocent while Moyer plays a seductive vampire with a decidedly human side. The pairing was instant Canned Heat. According to Moyer, the relationship was kept secret even on the set of True Blood. "The reason it was dodged last year was very intentional on both our parts, it was very important to me that the cast and crew we were working with didn't feel it was fickle, and didn't feel it could possibly potentially encroach on their lives, you know, just like, 'Oh the two stars are having a thing.' We didn't want to take anything away from the show."
This explains the onscreen chemistry of Moyers and Paquin. Such pairings are not so unusual, Dexter star Michael C. Hall recently wed costar Jennifer Carpenter, who plays his sister.
Moyer, 39, has a few years over True Blood co-star Paquin, who is 27 – and a few kids as well. Moyer has two children from a previous relationship.
True Blood is deep into its second season and has already been approved for a third. True Blood airs Sundays at 9:00pm est on HBO.
