Matthew McConaughey Willing To Do More True Detective

First of all, keep in mind: this does not mean Matthew McConaughey will be doing any more True Detective. We have already told you who is on board for season two of the show. We are simply speculating about some things the star said, and how his character clearly was not killed off in the season finale of the show. Still, honestly, do not expect this. We just thought it would be cool to share from the man’s mouth himself.

On Hollywood Deadline, Mathew McConaughey said the following about his feelings about True Detective:

I liked True Detective, the whole series and the experience of making it, so much that I’d be open to doing another one now. At the time, I was looking at six months and not beyond that. I don’t know of a feature film I’d sign for where I’m going to say, “If this works, you’ve got me whenever you want me for the next three years.”

While we can pretty sure this will not happen, it is really cool when an actor loves what they are in and are passionate about it. In my honest opinion, it was McConaughey who makes True Detective work so well in the first place. A sort of “mumblecore” Noire story, brought to life by his speeches and mannerisms.

Thing is, we know the show jumps around times periods. So the chance of us seeing Rust Colhe again seems a little slim.
