Premieres on Sunday, Sept. 20 (9:00 ET) on HBO
It's finally back. After almost two years of no Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry David's awkward comedy is returning for a season seven. The half-hour comedy, which features David as a misanthropic, fictional version of himself, will return on September 20, with the episode "Funkhouser's Crazy Sister" to kick off the new season.
The show was assumed to be cancelled after not being renewed for the 2008-2009 season, but the show, known for it's long off-season, was finally announced to return just a few months ago, in order to take over the first half of the Sunday spot left open when True Blood's second season will end on the thirteenth, with Bored to Death taking on the second half of the 9:00 - 10:00 timeslot.
The previews for the new season look absolutely hilarious. And, as I posted in an earlier newsbrief, a reunion of the Seinfeld cast is planned for the show. David, who co-created Seinfeld with Jerry Seinfeld, will certainly not amke the reunion a conventional one, but it will be great to see the four stars of the sitcom (Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Jason Alexander, and Michael Richards) reunite on the small screen for the first time in a long time. And I'm still holding out for a Wayne Knight appearance as well.
