Premieres Monday, September 28 (9/8c) on NBC
Mercy isn't the only new medical drama that NBC is commissioning the 2009 fall season. It's also backing Trauma, a new series that they hope will replace the fifteen-year-old behemoth, ER, which ended last year.
But unlike its sister show, Trauma's primary action won't take place in the hospital. It revolves around a group of paramedics, and most of it will take place out in the field. So, in a way, it'll be more easily compared to Rescue Me than Mercy, simply due to fact that paramedics, like firefighters, are essential in the aftermaths of accidents and disasters.
Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) executive produces "Trauma", a medical drama series that follows first-responder paramedics in the San Francisco Bay area. Stars Derek Luke ("Notorious"), Cliff Curtis ("10,000 B.C"), Anastasia Griffith ("Damages"), Aimee Garcia ("George Lopez"), Kevin Rankin ("Friday Night Lights") and Jamey Sheridan ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent").
