5 Reasons Why Kings Deserves Another Chance: #4 - Biblical Retelling
At the heart of the show is the famous story of David and Goliath, and David’s subsequent rise to power. Kings is a spectacular modern day interpretation of the biblical tale. It does not follow it exactly, but parallels are quite evident. What makes the show so special is that each viewer can take from it what they will. A more religious viewer will closely follow the story of David, this time being portrayed as an adviser to the king in a modern monarchy. Others will recognize the biblical parallels but focus more on the characters themselves, who are all distinct creations despite some representing biblical heroes.

I couldn't agree with you more, Adam.nbsp; Kings was such a surprise, cause none of us knew anything about it until it aired, and such a fantastic show.nbsp; I knew almost the moment I saw it that NBC was the wrong place for it.nbsp; I also felt like it represented the perfect replacement on Syfy for BSG.nbsp; It had a similar feel to it, for me, though I definitely appreciate the Lost connection as well.nbsp; Great article!

So true. Someone is not minding the store over there! This is like canceling West Wing in it's first season, utter madness! I also think the viral campaign to keep this show alive was also abysmal. Would someone please wake up?

Adam, I agree with every word you said about Kings, and is very sad that they let go of such wonderful work without a blink.
I had just signed the petition on http://tvseriesfinale.com/articles/kings-petition… and wrote a long letter to NBC expressing my thoughts upon the show and the cancelation. Have you done the same? I think your explination is very well organized andeloquent, if you tell them what you have to say here, the idea will definately go through.

Adam, I agree with you with every ounce of my being.nbsp; I just finished watching the monumentous season finale, and I immediatly began searching the internet for any sign of a second season.nbsp; However, now that I find out that there will be no continuation, I'm amazingly put-off.nbsp; This show is one of the few moving series that still exist, and you are completely correct; it was so original!nbsp; I've grown completely bored with the same cop/doctor show being played over and over and over.nbsp; This was a true breath of life into a failing NBC lineup.nbsp; Instead it seems as though they're just spurting out new ideas every day, and ignoring the fact that they've passed over a miracle of a series.nbsp; I spent every moment of this first season hanging on every move of Silas and David, and now to know they're not coming back is an abomination.nbsp; NBC should hang their heads in shame at dismissing such a masterpiece.

You have put into writing what I've been thinking about Kings all along.nbsp; It stands out in all aspects, and I want it to continue.nbsp; I also have written to NBC and signed several petitions.nbsp; I want to put my voice everywhere it can be heard.nbsp; I myself feel a little like David vs. Goliath in trying to get this show put back on the air.nbsp; I will try my hardest to get the word out there.nbsp; This show deserves more.
