Seinfeld was one of the greatest shows of all time, and after nearly a decade on the air, it built up quite a guest star list. Because of how high quality the show was, it attracted comedic and dramatic talent from all over Hollywood.

Some people were famous before they got on the show, but many were just getting their start, and you’ll see a host of famous faces who had the show as one of their first big roles before becoming stars. Check out the gallery below:

    Mel Torme.

  • PBS

They totally forgot about Johnathan Brownlee. He was my favorite in the room during the Elaine dance scene.

    • Nathaniel79

      Good Call!

  • Llew Keller

It may be more true of Seinfeld than other shows because the storylines required lots of guest stars, especially young women for Jerry and George to date, and get rejected by. But most long-running TV shows have guest stars that become famous. Over the years I recall seeing Bruce Dern, Dennis Hopper, and Robert Duvall in many 60s era westerns, Jack Nicholson in an episode of The Andy Griffith Show, Aaron Spelling (famous as a producer, of course) playing a hillbilly in an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and many others.

Ted Knight in The Twilight Zone.

      • Nostromo

        What a glimpse that was.

          Serious,or sarcasm?

          • Nostromo

Serious. His persona had yet to mold itself to what we would become more familiar with. Every time I see The Lonely I now find myself ‘keying-in’ on Ted’s performance.

I’ve only seen it once, but I think he had the beginning of his grin.

Sharon Tate as Beverly Caterer on the Beverly Hillbillies.

  • Dave

What about Jane Leeves (Dapne from Frasier) In her episode she played the virgin.

I recall several Outer Limits episodes which featured “unknown” stars.

    • bazooka

twilight zone as well. I saw a very young dennis hopper in a rifleman episode.

  • Bill McLaughlin

Washburn was more of a regular character as opposed to a guest star. He was great as Elaine’s boyfriend/fiancé/ex-boyfriend, the man was funny.
