A 'Twilight' Reality Show? Not Quite...

"The Twlight Saga" has dominated the book lists, the box office, the music charts and even the fast food industry. Now it will turn it's attention to the small screen, but not in the fashion you might think.

The Wrap has reported that there are talks to produce a reality show based on the small town of Forks, Washington, which serves as the back drop of the action of "The Twilight Saga", Stephenie Meyer's immortal bestselling series that is an entity in it's own right. The show would be along the lines of The Real Housewives and follow either families or a group of kids around and chronicle their lives in light of the town's newfound celebrity. According to Zig Gauthier, the show's producer, the exact premise isn't shaped out just yet, but he knows the basis of what he wants the premise to achieve; which is "to peel back another layer of the onion that is Forks and see what the real people are like."

But what Gauthier doesn't want is crazy claims of supernatural ties ala the fictional Cullen Vampires and their rivals, Jacob's Quileute Wolf Pack. "We're not going up there looking to cast people who have claims to the supernatural. We want people who have a true connection. We want to avoid people with outlandish claims."

That shouldn't be hard, right?

But the only thing Gauthier might will have to face other than claims of supernatural abilities is the Forks townspeople themselves, who know about the impending reality show, but might display some good ole small town opposition towards production. According to Forks Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center Manager Mike Gurling, the prospect of Forks being the basis for a reality show is "pretty hard to imagine..."

But Gauthier says he understands this "concern" and wants to make sure that the filming of the reality show is a pleasant one for the people of Forks.

"I do expect some people to be resistant. But we want to be respectful of what the town has gone through. I think we're making our best effort to make this a good experience."

Duly noted...

So what do you guys think? Yay? or WTF?
