ABC Upfronts 2010 - New Fall Schedule & Shows

Off the Map - Midseason

Executive producers Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers (“Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice) and creator Jenna Bans (Grey's Anatomy) bring you an uplifting medical drama that explores how far you have to go to truly heal.

Welcome to "la ciudad de las estrellas" (the city of stars), a tiny town in the South American jungle which has one understaffed, under-stocked medical clinic. That's where idealistic young Dr. Lily Brenner just landed, along with fellow doctors Mina Minard and Manny Diaz. All of these young doctors are running away from personal demons, but they aren't the only ones with emotional baggage. Take the legendary and enigmatic Ben Keeton, who was the youngest Chief of Surgery at UCLA. He walked away from it all to found the clinic. Together with his right-hand doctor Otis Cole, he'll teach these newcomers how to save lives in the most challenging environment they've ever worked in.

In this ensemble drama, five doctors who have lost their way will go to the ends of the earth to try to remember the reasons why they wanted to become doctors in the first place.

"Off the Map" stars Martin Henderson as Ben Keeton, Caroline Dhavernas as Lily Brenner, Enrique Murciano as Manny Diaz, Mamie Gummer as Mina Minard, Jason George as Otis Cole, Valerie Cruz as Zita (Zee) and Jose Julian as Charlie.

"Off the Map" is executive produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers and created/executive produced by Jenna Bans. The series is produced by ABC Studios.

I think there are a couple of different trends at play here and they're all becoming clear with the different schedules being presented this week – the network sitcom is "back" (even though it didn't really ever go anywhere — but look at Modern Family, Parks & Rec, Big Bang, etc. to see why there will be even more of them next year), and other standard shows are falling – legends like Law & Order, Lost or 24, and even American Idol is on decline. This should be an interesting year for upfronts, and even more so for new shows in general. I'm looking forward to fall (for a first time in a long time!) http://thesmogger.com/2010/05/17/next-years-tv-…..

So happy with ABC right now!! By far the best network, with the best show!! My favorite is Brothers and Sisters, followed by Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. Thanks to the powers that be for bringing back my three favorites. Can't wait to see how Brothers and Sisters moves forward with Kitty post Robert, Luc and Sarah — and Saul. Thanks again for making a great decision, ABC! I will be tuned in this fall!Lori

**We all know that Friday is where shows generally go to die, so it seems almost counter-intuitive to put shows there**It almost seems counter-intuitive to have *any* new shows, since the networks don't really promote them, don't stand behind them, and yank them so quickly. Had ABC actually promoted FlashForward and not screwed with the schedule, giving them a almost 4 month hiatus after 6 or 7 episodes, I think it would have done a lot better. I am shocked to see that V was renewed, I thought it was worse-off ratings-wise than FlashForward.I have to say, now that FF and Happy Town are gone, I have absolutely nothing to watch on ABC…none of the new shows are really grabbing my interest. :(

you guys suck for taking flash forward away. i will not watch anymore of your crappy sit-coms especially Better Together.. what a stupid show! seriously big waste of money. Lame writing. crappy cast.

Dropping Flash Forward is a BIG mistake! Why do the networks continually think sci fi doesn't have a following. We don't need another cop or hospital show or another idiotic reality show!Looks like Dancing With The Stars and Castle are the only bright spots left beyond the Sunday night lineup.
