Just a few months after the news of Prime Suspect being transitioned from the UK to the US, more news comes about a show that's crossing the pond as well. It's a sitcom, but it's not what you think. In fact, the only show coming over from the UK is a show-within-a-show, and it's not actually a real show. Confused yet?
Matt LeBlanc isn't. He's already set to star in the six-episode series Episodes, set to air on Showtime next year. The series, which will reunite LeBlanc with Friends creator David Crane, revolves around a British couple whose hit comedy in the U.K. is being transitioned into an American sitcom (à la The Office), which will star Matt LeBlanc ("I am so glad I got the part", LeBlanc joked. "Seeing someone else play Matt LeBlanc would have been devastating."). However, Hollywood is nowhere like Britain, and the couple find themselves swimming with the sharks in the American film industry. It's Coming to America meets Entourage, if that's possible.
Episodes will begin filming later this year (in both the UK and the US), and will air early next year on Showtime.
