Anthony Bourdain Wisdom and One Liners

I think few people can argue that Anthony Bourdain is a cool dude. A celebrity “chef” (whom you never see cook) who makes travel shows where he goes around from place to place and just eats the local food and experiences the local life. The thing that stands out most is that sometimes he says stuff that just seems to make sense. Like, I want an Anthony Bourdain calender that has some epic quote you can tear away, page by page, every day. In the meantime, Eater collected some great one liners from a recent episode, and we collected the best one liners out of those one liners. Trust me, there are some real gems in here.

This particular episode of his Parts Unknown show was focusing on the high roller life of Las Vegas. This led to some great one liners from Anthony Bourdain, who may act humble, but I bet lives like a rock star.

“This is about people who live here. When all the meatheads come and go, they’re still here. These people have seen every variety of horrifying human behavior. The whole business model is to come here and behave really, really badly.”

While in the middle of a gold room being fed like some kind of Greek God, Bourdain ruminates: Bobby Flay probably lives like this all the time.

Amid all the luxury, at one point, he feels like he needs to spout ” I’m trying to prove I’m down with people. I am still cool.”

But maybe my favorite quote of all was how he feels about EDM music. For those who don’t know, this is the fancy term for dub step and all the crazy techno that seems to be everywhere now. Anthony Bourdain says about EDM. Though I cannot quote it directly due to our fan base, let’s just say he is NOT a fan.

Also, about the typical Vegas club clientele: Hear my clarion call. Anointeth thyself with gel and heavenly body spray. Maketh the sign of the devil horns with thine hands. Let there be the high fiving and the hugging of many bros, for this is the kingdom and the power. Now frolic and maketh it rain!

Even amid the glitz and glam of Vegas, Anthony Bourdain can still be a wise yet somewhat snarky man. That, my friends, is why I adore the guy.
