I don't know about you guys, but season 3 was the one that made me fall completely in love with Castle. As frustrating as it may have been - and you all know I had my fair share of complaints about it - it was also just so darn entertaining that it would be no sacrifice to watch it again.
As much as the dance Castle and Beckett do around each other can sometimes frustrate us, my favorite aspect of the show this season was exactly how they managed to deepen their relationship. It was just so great to watch them go from strangers (with Beckett barely tolerating him back in season 1, remember?) to something very close to best friends, who trust each other completely.
We don't even have to go as far as season 1 to see the major progress they have made. If you compare the season 3 premiere, "A Deadly Affair", with the season 3 finale, "Knockout", the evolution of both characters is nothing short of - for lack of a better word - extraordinary.
And their relationship wasn't the only great aspect of the season. We got to see secondary characters like Ryan and Esposito grow and have their own background stories further explored; Martha actually being a mother to Castle, worrying about him and giving sound advice; Alexis growing up and having to deal with real teenage problems.
It was all around a really good season. Of course the continuity issue and the Josh roadblock still annoy me, but the way I see it, we had more good than bad. I mean, the finale alone was probably one of the best episodes - on any TV show - I have seen in a really long time.
So to celebrate an awesome season, I put together the last Castle slideshow before the summer hiatus with the best moments.
Don't forget to check out a review of season 3 and an in-depth season 3 finale review.
Thank you for this Luciana, and I don't have to write my favorite scenes, because you already showed them. I agree, frustrations aside, one great season!
