Just when you thought your chance at 15 minutes of fame was dead, UK TV fans...
Like a phoenix, the hit UK reality show Big Brother, which has spawned from the Netherlands, has been resurrected for Channel 5 for a August 2011 start date after a nine month negotiation period between Endemol, Big Brother's production company, and Channel 5's newest owner Richard Desmond. The deal that was made equals £200 million ($326,605,798 in American dollars) and is for a two year stay on the network starting with this August's Celebrity Big Brother edition, which will be followed by a regular 13-week edition afterwards.
The new Big Brother is currently looking for a replacement for Davina McCall, who hosted all editions of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother and is currently hosting the UK's version of NBC's The Biggest Loser.
While news of Big Brother's return is great in itself, Deadline reports that a certain celebrity here in the States is on the top of the producers' wish list for a spot on Celebrity Big Brother for his "winning" attitude.
That's right, folks. Charlie Sheen is being sought to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house and possibly wreck havoc once he gets in there. Nothing is official yet, but if the producers do manage to snag Sheen for a stint in the infamous house, he would be joining such past U.S. celebs like LaToya and Jermaine Jackson, Dennis Rodman, Coolio, Stephen Baldwin, Heidi Fleiss, Sisqo, and Verne Troyer (to name a "few") who have appeared on the show.
In short, Sheen would fit right at home with this mixed bag of entertaining nuts, which could be a "winning" situation for everyone. Well, not everyone, but someone.
