Even though he trashed his dressing room this Tuesday after being interviewed on Good Morning America, Chris Brown is still set to perform on next Tuesday's Dancing With The Stars results show.
The incident happened after anchor Robin Roberts inquired about his assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna that happened in March 2009. According to Roberts, Brown knew that one of the topics they were going to cover during the interview was the domestic violence case. When the anchor mentioned that Rihanna had dropped the restraining order that was part of Brown’s guilty plea, the singer shrugged it off saying it wasn't a big deal and that he wished that people would focus on his new album F.A.M.E., and not on “stuff that happened two years ago.”
Although showing a casual attitude during the interview, he got angry after he performed on the show and broke a large window in his dressing room. Later, he posted on Twitter that he is "so over people bring this s–t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie Sheen and other celebs for there [sic] bulls–t!”.
That particular tweet has been deleted since then and replaced with “Thank you to everyone who supports my music!!! Key word music!”
This is disgusting. His lack of disrespect for everything and everyone is being REWARDED. There are no solid or lasting ramifications for his actions. It makes me sick that he will appear on a family show after all he has done. DWTS I love you and never miss an episode, but I ashamed and disappointed and will not be watching next Tuesday.
Moira,
We forget that he is a singer and a dancer. He is there to perform. If society was to take one's personal life into account, we would not watch any movie, sitcom, nor listen to music.
Everyone loves Kim Kardashian but, she was famous because she leaked her sex tape. I can keep going but my point is, as long as he continues to be a great performer; let him perform.
Why is it ok for Chris to destroy property, walk off set without singing his second song, and generally show he has no class but when Adam Lambert kissed a guy he was banned from GMA and all other ABC shows? This tells me it's ok to teach our kids to destroy others property and to have fits of temper whenever things don't go exactly as they wish but it's not ok to display public affection.
As much as I love ABC, I will not longer be watching any programming on the channel. I am outraged that this person who has such little respect for anyone but himself is allowed to continue without consequences. It's no wonder celebrities act the way they do. Shame on you ABC for stooping so low.
One has nothing to do with the other. There is no reason why Chris Brown should not perform. He has moved on with his life and Good Morning America did not respect him by bringing up the topic. What he did has nothing to do with Charlie Sheen. There are several people who have done wrong on tv. It is all entertainment. If it is not Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, or Chris Brown, it would be someone else. Get over it. I love DWTS and also love Chris Brown as an entertainer.
Chris Brown may have moved on with his life, but i can assure that a piece of Rhianna is stuck right there in that infamous day! He was not disrespected by GMA… he was prepped and agreed. Besides, you have to be respected before you can be disrespected. He has done NOTHING on a personal level to warrant respect. Professionally, i'm sure he's very talented and works very hard at it. He needs to spend more time working on Chris on less on his new albums!
ABC-TV can not be that hardup for entertainers to perform on their extremely popular. I wouldn't give that No-Nothing Rapper the time of day, yet alone a spot on their hit show, for that idiot to promote his album. WHAT ARE THE PRODUCERS SMOKING!!!! He trashes their studio, and he gets rewarded by being allowed in their studios again?? HOW RIDICULOUS! You should be ashamed ABC-TV! Grow a pair and do what is necessary!!!!
@ Keith get facts straight. He is a singer not rapper. Even though one thing has nothing to do with the other, I'm sure millions will continue to watch two and half men. Mel Gibson is out of the spot light because someone else has moved in. Why can't Chris Brown move out the spot light as well. I don't agree that it should be brushed under rug but DAMN let it go. I do agree that he needs help but I love DWTS and Chris Brown. Can't wait til next week show.
Chris Brown,is trying to get himself in a better place. People, anchors need to leave this subject alone. If Rhanna has moved on so shall we. We need to pray for both of them.
What a spoiled brat Chris Brown is. So sad, his behavior is pathetic. He wants respect for his music and talent? How about respect for acting like a human being. He doesn't get it.
I can't wait to see Chris Brown on DWTS. Let's be honest, he's the best dancer out there right now. They should never have brought up the Rihanna story in his interview. He's faced the music for his actions already. How can he move past it if the public won't let him. If DWTS wants to widen its fan base then they should have the best dancers out there on the show. He is the best.
Please DO NOT allow Chris Brown to disgrace this wonderful, FAMILY show. He has clearly not rehabilitated himself. Let him try again next year, after more (hopefully) therapy.
It is disgusting that Chris Brown is still being allowed to perform on DWTS. I too am an avid fan of the show and I am completely disappointed that they are continuing with his performance. Clearly he has not learned that violence is not the answer or how to control his temper. If he has not learned by now, he won't learn. He will destroy another dressing room and more importantly, he will hit another human being. By allowing him to perform, we are saying that violence is okay and there are no consequences for violent behavior.
I will not watch the results show on Tues if ABC allows this degenerate to preform. What a waste of time and money. Grow a pair ABC and stand up for some family values!!!!!!!!
get over it! a couple of viewers lost no big deal :)
WAYYYY more than a couple!!! ABC will, no doubt, lose thousands of fans to this debaucle. And don't be surprised to hear that the advertisers start pulling out of the show because of it too!
Everyone needs to get over themselves and stop judging these people. Let this young man get on with his life. I could see if the assault just happened but my goodness! He shouldn't have to speak about every interview for the rest of his life. Those without sin cast the 1st stone.
Amen Elice! Obviously those that are judging forget that God is forgiving and casts our sins into the sea of forgetfullness. What happend with Chris occurred 2 years ago, and he's paid his dues. Now let him get on with his life, as we continue to get on with ours. And for the record, I hope he does perform on DWTS next week. I will definitely be in front of my tv to watch and cheer him on!!!
O MY GOSH PEOPLE GET OVER IT!!! We’ve all made mistakes!! All you people boycotting because he is performing are HYPOCRITE’s. (keep throwing your stones) I don’t condone what happen but let the young man grow up and move on. What if no gave you second chance and brought up your past every time you tried to move on and change.
Everyone posting how they won't be watching next week epsiode guess what. You won't be missed the show still has millions of fans who will tune in reguardless. I LOVE DWTS. Chris Brown does need to get help.
totally agree :)
get the hell over it! after 2 yrs it should have been over with. dwts will not lose a couple of viewers just because the media can't leave the bullcrap behind. he has to move on. there are to many other important issues in the world that has had a major impact on people. lets focus on those issue. chris & rihanna are human and going to have issues and still going to make money and be in the lime light. get pasted it. you chris brown. you paid your price. now get the tude together and grow young man. you got time.
When Chris Brown decided to become a famous Hip-Hop singer he accepted to the good and there is also bad. When you are in the lime light you have all eyes on you and you must always act accordingly as you have young people looking at you as a role model. Chris should always act respectfully so that he can gain respect. If you act like a "jerk" or display unacceptable behavior he must answer to questions he will not like and deal with the consequences.
Stop trying to compare to others like Charlie Sheen or Mel Gibson because they too have to answers to questions regarding their unacceptable actions. Man up. I dont think Chris would have appreciated what he did to Rhianna happen to his mother or sister.
people who say that we need to get over it and let Chris live his life are not relly looking at the problem. Yes we do make mistakes and but we need to be accountable for those mistakes and NOT loose control when it's brought up. Chris has anger issues and he needs to deal with it and learn how to handle it because the more he displays that negative behavior the more people will continue bringing "it" up.
This is a DANCING show and Chris Brown is a DANCER and a really good one too. His personal life shouldn't effect the fact that he can DANCE for a DANCING show! Yes his personal behaviors are wrong on so many levels and that needs to be fix ASAP but still a DANCING show calls for a DANCER with a DANCING performance. HE WILL DELIVER….
This is ridiculous! Stop protesting about Chris Brown, performing on the show. No one protested Miley Cyrus on Disney Channel for her sexy photos, when she was under age. In fact, her show is still on the air.
No one is asking you all to be his friend. He has a job to do. That job is to perform. If we were fired from our jobs for our personal life, no one would have one. The only big difference between his job and ours is, his lands him in the spot light. Ours let us keep our dirt, in the dark. "He without sin, cast the first stone."
Please, people, wake up to reality. There is a signed contract in place for Chris Brown to perform. That is totally separate from what happened on GMA. It would cost the producers money to cancel it. Besides, don't you think the notoriety of what happened on GMA is something Chris Brown needs right now to step up his career?
Now that I have scolded you all, let me state my own foolish, futile wish. That women who might be attracted to this thug would realize that he hasn't really changed. Don't date him if you don't want to be beaten and abused. See what I mean? A futile plea.
There was a signed contract for Adam Lambert to appear on GMA but they cancelled it and banned him from performing on GMA, Jimmy Kimmell, and New Years Eve. Wny can't they teach this thug a lesson? ABC please don't let him appear. I definitely won't watch if you do.
Where is the Parents Television Council now???? Hey everyone, now that we got rid of that gay guy, let's teach our kids that it's OK to beat up women and destroy property, and show NO RESPECT for others. This is all good???? What is wrong with you people???? VIOLENCE IS GODOD, SEX IS EVIL? This is what we want to teach our children???
I will not be watching DWTS this season because Chris Brown is set to perform, even though he has repeatedly shown he is a terrible role model and has violent and destructive tendencies. He needs anger management. Allowing him to perform is a terrible decision, given his recent actions on GMA's set. He is spreading the message that domestic abuse is permitted (and even rewarded) in our society.
What is wrong with you people! The man lost complete control and threw a chair through a window! If Chris Brown truly wants people to move on, then he should stop doing dumb things that give him a bad image. Whether he deserves forgiveness is not the issue. What is most important is his improvement and clearly there has been none! Those of you who say that people need to get over it are failing to realize that Chris is not a child and he too must take responsibility for his actions. Even if he wouldn't have assaulted Rihanna, this kind of behavior would still be unacceptable for a grown man! ABC is only enabling him.
Once a thug, always a thug. Obviously, Christ has not learned the lesson from beating up his girl friend. She should have had him do harsher punishment. He is still a violent person. ABC should demand his apology for inappropriate behavior or cancel his appearance on DWTS. He has bad karma. Someone needs to help him to get well.
