Community Q & A Panel At Los Angeles College (video)

ScreenHunter_01 Sep. 03 11.23Community is a new sitcom on NBC that follows a band of misfits who attend Greendale Community College. At the center of the group is Jeff Winger (Joel McHale, "The Soup"), a fast-talkin’ lawyer whose degree has been revoked. With some help from his fellow classmates, Winger forms a study group who eventually learn more about themselves than their course work.  The cast of this series is fantastic, which also includes Chevy Chase, Ken Jeong (from The Hangover and Knocked Up), and Yvette Nicole Brown (whose name you may not recognize, but she was very funny on Drake and Josh and has been in a lot of other stuff).

The cast of Community along with the show's creator, Dan Harmon, participated in a question and answer session at Los Angeles City College earlier this week with the students.  The result is some of the best unscripted fun I've seen in a while, and proves that Chevy Chase doesn't need a writer or a script to be funny, and it seems almost impossible for him to be serious for more than about five seconds at a time.  Granted, he's not constantly funny, and there was even one awkward moment where they ask him to do a Harold Ramis impersonation, which I found hilarious, but most of the audience must have been thinking, Harold Who?  Still, Chase kept a smile on my face the entire time, even when he was awkward and rambling, and Joel McHale responded well under pressure of some tough questions, such as "What's the deal with the boots you're wearing?"  Questions like that require a lot of preparation that he didn't have and he still responded well (he's in ROTC apparantly).  It's a three parter, so if you enjoy this sort of unscripted, panel discussion type thing, take a peak.
